You ain't lived until you've two-stepped to ACDC's "Shook Me All Night" and heard Cody Braun wail on the fiddle. I know it sounds impossible, but Reckless Kelly makes it work. There is nothing generic about this band or this CD. Their original material is fresh, well constructed, and distinctive (not to mention, mighty, mighty tasty). Sure, they do covers of Dylan and Led Zepplin - but not the same tired tunes that every garage band beats into the ground. Willy Braun's bad-whiskey-and-cheap-cigars voice belies his youth; it has a way of etching its way, note by note, deep into your soul. Add Cody's harmony and heart-breaking mandolin and violin, stir in a snare drum ("and only a snare drum"), a solid bass player, and a fabulous guitar player, and buddy, you got yourself a good-time band! Every person that I've taken to a Reckless Kelly gig or to whom I have given "Live at Stubbs" or their first CD, "Millican," absolutely loves this band. BUY THIS CD!

A must 4 your collection, June 18, 2000
This review is from: Acoustic: Live at Stubb's (Audio CD)
This CD is about worn out, from all the airtime it gets, I may have to get another, this is one CD you will not need to skip tracks, it's starts out cool & only gets better. Covers from AC/DC & Led Zeppelin are great as is the entire CD. If you need a gift for a picky person, this is it.

What a great, gutsy band!, March 22, 2005

I stumbled onto these guys by just a quirk of fate! Was I ever lucky!, any band that can take Dylan's "Home sick subterranean blues" and make it JUST as good as the original or......EVEN BETTER! gets my vote everyday!, I've got a lot of catching up to do now, lucky me!
