This is an exceptional cable if you need a 3.5mm extension. I purchased this for my MDR-XB700's with an E7 amp. The best thing about this cable is that its foil shielded, instead of spiral or braid shielded like most other brands, including Belkin and Sony. Any wire expert knows that you will get 100% coverage with a foil shield (0 sound quality loss). Spiral/Braided shields can give as low as 40% coverage.

The construction is also good. The cable is thick and sturdy. The 24k gold connectors appear made of high quality. Both of the connector plugs even have an anti-slip guard!

All in all I believe Acoustic Research generally makes good cables. I only wish the color was black instead of blue. If you don't mind paying a bit more than normal and getting quality, go for this cable.

I'm using these with my Shure SHR840s--can't hear any sound quality loss over having the headphones directly connected to the computer, something that was a huge problem with the cheaper cable I tried buying before this. Good solid cable, looks nice, sounds great.

This cable is freaking awesome. I have a pair of HD595s that I like to use with these. I had a previous adapter cable and I could hear a noticeable loss of quality. The sound was a bit hampered on the old cable, and on switching to this, it's as if there was no cable extension. Preserved sound quality. Great.
