- I bought these to replace a pair of Sennheiser RS 140 Wireless HiFi Headphones, that had snapped in two, and I couldn't get a replacement, even though they had a 2-year Warranty,
thorough Sennheiser. I bought this pair of Acoustic Research AWD205 Wireless Stereo Headphones, in Black, as a "replacement" set, so here is my take on these headphones.
BTW, I have to note that I thoroughly researched the Wireless Headphones for TV use, and I didn't find any really sets that had a Excellent or Superior Rating, although I do wish that some manufacturer would produce a self-reliant BlueTooth Version that could just be Plug-N-Play, for any TV's with a USB connector.

My Pro's on the AWD205 Wireless Stereo Headphones - For TV Use Only.

* Sound - Very Good, when fully charged.
* Smaller in Size & more streamlined than the Sennheiser RS 140's, which were more bulkier. Won't Notice this until you lay down.
* 3-inch, Open-Air type Stereo Ear phones, with Controls on the Right phone. The Left Phone has the Charger connector. Headphones are thus very comfortable to use for extended periods of time.
* Headphones Size: strictly for Small to Medium sized heads, so if you happen to have a huge head like Oliver Platt, you better get something else!
* Workmanship - Appear very durable and is made in Canada, which has a Excellent Reputation for craftsmanship.
* Headband is only 1-inch wide & Thin, with soft foam rubber inside it to cushion your head.


My Con's on the AWD205 Wireless Stereo Headphones - For TV Use Only.

* Transmitter Unit - is relatively Small & Clumsy. It looks like a Super-dupper Tiny wireless Router!
* Transmitter Lights - Very Bright and can be annoying at night when you are trying to sleep, this was never a problem with the Sennheiser's. Use Masking Tape to MUTE the lights, otherwise if you block it out entirely, you won't know if the headphones are charging.
* Operates on 2.4ghz technology - do I really need to say more?
* Charger cable is a single-connector type about 12-inches long, that plugs into the back of the Receiver/Charger unit. Again, it's Clumsy and makes it look so "analog-ish".
* I would have rather preferred to have had a mini-USB connector that I could plug into my computer, AC/USB unit, or a USB Recharger, OR, some other Type of Recharger Station.
* I had to buy a Y-Connector to make it work with the TV Analog Inputs, so this was an extra purchase.

I gave it a Solid 4-Stars and will update these headphones later in the year. Thanks for stopping by.

I bought two of these from Electronic Express through Amazon.com. Both were delivered in good shape and at first everything looked and sounded great. But both of these units had defects in that they would not recharge properly when connected to the transmitter / charger. When the batteries had power, the sound was absolutely fantastic, but they were not of much good if they don't recharge properly. I also was upset about the return, i.e., they did give me my purchase price back, but I had to pay the return shipping for not one but two defective products. All worked out well, however, thanks to Amazon.com, they gave me credit for the return shipping and applied it against my subsequent purchase of a 2 pair of Sony Wireless Headphones. I have had a number of problems with Audiovox recently, so they are not in my buy list anymore. One other thing. The transmitter / charger is so light, it is difficult to not turn it over when plugging in the headphones.

I bought these to use with an electronic drum set so I no longer hit the cord with my sticks. This seemed like a reasonable buy and I do have to say that the sound was pretty good. The bass was what you expect for an over the ear headphone if not a bit better. The mids and highs were quite good. However, the headphones are very plastic-y and feel rather flimsy. The base is also lightweight with cheap cords. When I received the headphones, one earpiece would episodically hiss and then stop. No known triggers for this and it would not resolve with multiple changes of the battery, checking all connections, etc. I will assume this is just a defective pair. The kicker on all this is the 0.5-1.0 second delay between hitting the drum pad and the sound reaching my ear. As a drummer, this is deadly. While this may not make much of a difference for music, this may make a difference for movies or games where the synchonization does not look quite right. Returned them and bought the Sennheiser 120's. We shall see.

I saw these headphones recommended in a WSJ story, and they really deliver. I use them with both my computer/iTunes and with our TV, and the sound quality is extremely high. Reception, even a 100ft away from the source, is great, with no interference or drop-out. The rechargeable batteries have a very long life. Don't expect CD sound quality, but nevertheless you'll be very pleased.

These are very comfortable headphones with outstanding clarity. Price was the best among comparable models. I am very pleased with the purchase.

Great Quality, the sound is excellent. Very easy to set up and operate. We would definitely purchase again and recommend it to friends.

Sound is great, distance is about 150' unless trying to pass through conc or brick walls. That kills sound. They are a little big but not bad. Charging is easy and fast. I've used them 6-8 hours on full charge. For the cost vs function they are a good deal.

I run out of luck when buying this as a b-day present for my wife. We could not find an essential component of the set (charging cord for earphones). I emailed and complained (moderately). Two days later I received by UPS the replacement. Alas, it was the AC power cord, and in any case we lost it. Emailed again, got the same. Now I had three AC cords but no charging cord. Emailed again, and immediately they sent the cord I needed. Mind you, with the exception of the missing item in the original shipment, all the trouble afterwards was my fault. And yet they send the items free of charge. This is what I call good costumer service. These guys live in the 70's, when the costumer was always right and treated as a king!
I have not tried the product. So more later!

We got this for my mom, whom is very hard of hearing. They didn't work good for her but when we tried them, they were okay, if you have no or little hearing loss.

order I.D.105991186915255404 but headphones were defective. Returned and received replacment which were also defective. Waiting for vendor to contact me. My e-mail to them was on 9/22/2011. I asked for a refund still waiting for an answer. Soon I will contact Amazon for help.
