Makes my DVD player surround sound. Sounds great and amazon's price you cannot beat. For some reason they have no picture though. Goto [...] for the picture also look for their outrageous price.

I've got a couple of Monster optical cables because that's what the local stores carry. But when you think about it, it's a digital signal and just about any optical cable ought to be able to carry the signal without dropping bits. Sure enough, this cable is much cheaper than the same thing from Monster and works fine.

I just received a couple of these cables and hooked them up. They are not as fancy or robust as the more expensive cables I bought at Best Buy with my receiver, but they seem OK and work fine. As far as sound quality goes, my experience with digital cables like these or HDMI is that they either work perfectly or they don't work at all.

Very well made product. I have another toslink cable from Acoustic Research that I bought 10 years ago and have never had a problem with it. I recently bought one of the $2 toslink cables and it has worked well, but I might have been lucky based on some of the reviews I read. I think this cable is worth the few extra dollars based on the quality of this cable (way better than the $2 toslink) and my past experience with my other AR cable. Even comes with protective end caps which are nice when moving or storing the cable. Recommended.
