Almost all subwoofer cables utilize one or more layers of shielding and one of those layers (usually copper) is the negative connection for the cable. The negative can also be a separate wire and not part of the shielding. This enables you to ground the shielding to the receiver, if needed, without introducing a ground to the sub connection via the RCA. This concept is used in pro type audio installs. It is s a very important attribute if you need to defeat interference. Acoustic Research Master Series utilizes this approach of separating the negative wire from the shielding, and clearly surpassing the other subwoofer cables. Cables by Monster, Mediabridge and Belkin lack the separation of the negative wire from the shielding. The Top Ten Reviews web site does not make this distinction and list Mediabridge Ultra Series as being the best.

The cable is excellent quality. You have to loosen the plug first before making any connection and then tighten it back afterward. It comes in a heavy duty plastic case, which u need a screwdriver to open up. The sound is clean and no humming noise from the woofer which I had using a cheap cable.

I got this for my Polk PSW10 subwoofer, connected to a VSX-1020 pioneer receiver. The receiver has 1 sub out, and my sub has 2 ins (R and L), so I needed a cable that would split - this Y cable fits the bill... awesome sound quality... also, there are clear marks on the cable indicating that it is unidirectional, so when you fit it, make sure you are plugging the right end into the receiver and your sub... overall, great product

I bought two of these, at $10 each, and they came with the Y Adapter and a 25 ft. long cable. Wow, they simply are the nicest SubWoofer cables I have ever seen, and I have even had Monster cables in the past. The cable is Unidirectional, so it has arrows on it for the signal flow direction. I hooked up the Y-Cable with the two males to my Klipsch RW-10d subwoofer, and the other end with the male to my AMP sub out. AR packages these like they are diamonds in a phenomenal case -- these are TOTAL QUALITY, AND NO NOISE WHAT SO EVER!!! IF YOU BUY OTHER CABLES YOU ARE MAKING A MISTAKE -- BUY ONLY ACOUSTIC RESEARCH, AND YOUR THERE WITH THERE LIFETIME WARRANTY ALSO.

There seem to be two categories of subwoofer cables: the moderately priced, and the insanely expensive. If you're looking in the moderately priced range, as I expect the vast majority of shoppers are, then this cable is perfect. Good length to fit almost any sized room. Good shielding to prevent noise from other nearby cables, etc. Great connection points that lock into place. I have no complaints.

These are extremely high quality cables, at an insanely low price on Amazon. I recently purchased a BIC F12 subwoofer and needed a RCA/subwoofer cable. However, I did not want black cables as it would stand out like a sore thumb against my white baseboards.

I was surprised at how difficult it was to track down non-black/dark colored cables at a low price point. The color of these Acoustic Research cable is a little darker than the item photo, and is a pearl/silver color. It blends well with my beige carpet and does not contrast too much with my baseboards.

The cables themselves are thick and sturdy and just oozes quality. The RCA connectors have a screw-twist locking mechanism, which makes the connections to the receiver and sub very secure. Also, I'd like to note that this package comes with a standard single-end cable and a separate Y-adapter. I didn't need the Y-adapter, but it was a nice bonus to have for later use. I highly recommend this product - even with shipping, it is still one of the best values around (particularly if aesthetics matter to you and need the cables to blend with the decor).

i recently bought 2 pairs and more than estatic of quality, sound, and value of such a fine subwoofer cable. my recommendation is buy a pair and enjoy it quality, and sound. thank you, michael m.

...like I said, just buy it! for the money, this is by far the best quality cable I have ever seen or used. I guarantee you won't find anything even close to this cable for the price.

It is directional(not many can say that), locking connectors (haven't seen any that have this feature!), RF nodules built into cable and it comes with a Y adapter. The color of the cable is like a pearled ivory look, very neutral color (great if you are running it over carpet or flooring).

You will understand the quality this item has just by the packaging. It comes in a hard case, sealed by screws and locking tabs?!. I had purchased a black cable by accident, and ordered this one to replace. What a night and day difference! You would easily spend 4X this amount if you found it anywhere else.

I bought these here through Amazon and am very impressed with them. They are very heavy, with excellent connectors that have a tightening feature for a solid connection. If you need a subwoofer cable, this is the one. Cheers.
