After researching several cable options I decided to purchase the Acoustic Research PR152 subwoofer cable. The price was good as well as the quality of the cable and connections. I replaced an old unshielded cable with the AR PR152 and immediately noticed an improvement in sound quality and the cable completely eliminated interference from nearby power cords. I also own a higher $$ cable (too short for this application) and can honestly say I can't tell any difference in in sound quality vs the less expensive AR PR152. If you are looking for a good cable at a good price, I recommend the AR PR152.

Don't spend your money on expensive, so called Audiophile brands. This cable set does a great job with excellent results for much less.

This subwoofer cable does NOT include the y-splitter as the item image seems to indicate.

I was using an old standard rca cord I had pulled in half...started using this and can tell a little bit of a difference...pushing my 450 watt powered klipsche sub. I have a sweet Klipsche setup in my movie theatre...150" HD screen...epson powerlight 8350...sweetass projector BTW...anyhow one thing I did notice is that my auto on/off is now working on my sub so it turns off with my receiver...wasn't working before with the regular half RCA...and OH YEA it came with the spliter too!!! They make quality cables for sure....would buy another if I had to

What a deal for this cable WITH the Y splitter included! The splitter alone costs
twice as much at WALMART. AWESOME CABLE!

Unfortunately, this is a case where reading the reviews pointed me in the wrong direction. My cable DID come with the Y-splitter, I ordered a separate Y-splitter, and now I have an extra. Not sure if that was added after other reviews or not. No complaints about the sound, great cable.

Almost all subwoofer cables utilize one or more layers of shielding and one of those layers (usually copper) is the negative connection for the cable. The negative can also be a separate wire and not part of the shielding. This enables you to ground the shielding to the receiver, depending on the wire specifications, if needed, without introducing a ground to the sub connection via the RCA. This concept is used in pro type audio installs. It is s a very important attribute if you need to defeat interference. Acoustic Research Pro Series utilizes this approach of separating the negative wire from the shielding, and the Master Series takes it one step further. They clearly surpass the other subwoofer cables. Cables by Monster, Mediabridge and Belkin lack the separation of the negative wire from the shielding. The Top Ten Reviews web site does not make this distinction and list Mediabridge Ultra Series as being the best.

First off mine did come with the Y-splitter so the picture is accurate. Build quality looks good. Sound is fine. However the main reason I bought this was the "directional" claim - I had a nasty ground loop audible through my subwoofer and I was hoping this would fix the problem. No noticeable effect. If you're looking to eliminate the ground loop I recommend the Ebtech Hum X Voltage Hum Filter. It works. Otherwise this cable is pretty good for the price.

I misread the discription when I purshased the item. I thought I was getting a 6 foot cable. I was pleasantly surprised to get a 15 foot cable when I opened the box. The cable is thick and comes with a Y splitter. The connectors are well constructed and allow the user to unscrew them and re-saulder the connection if the need ever arrises. Amazon's picture of this product shows that the end of the wire is exposed; in reality the product comes with a mono connector at each end.

This cable works. For the price you pay, i think it is a good buy vs those of much higher cost. Not sure is there much difference.
