I can tell this wire is well made, but the product listing should show a close-up image of the wire. The two strands are spaced a good 1/4" apart so the overall width of the wire inside the plastic jacket is about 1/2" which might be great for shielding/separation but makes for anything but discreet when laying cable.

It is somewhat difficult to strip the plastic from the wires, even with my stripping tool, and there are what appear to be white "filler" fibers. However, this is a good price for this length oxygen-free speaker wire. They sound fine, but I ended up not using it - the speakers I bought locally did not work out.

I emailed Acoustic Research,
What is the white fiber in the middle of this 16AWG wire? It seems to be just taking space where there should be copper. It seems to be a rip-off to me & I'm not getting a full 16AWG, but 20AWG or less worth of wire!
I didn't think I was paying for filler!

Response> "This cable was discontinued before Audiovox acquired this AR product line. We don't have any support information about it".

Fiber surrounded by copper you lose about 1/3 where the copper is missing. Then a oh we know nothing response from them.
