I have had this sub-woofer for almost 8 years now and it still performs as good as the day I first got it and it's been played at extremely high levels lots of times. It is one tough sub. It sounds great with both movies and music. It cranks out nice crisp/clean bass and is not boomy like a lot of other subs out there. The cabinet is built like a brick and it very strong and solid. I can't remember how many times my kids have sat on it and used it as a chair over the years. Hehe... I know this review is long over due but I happened to come across this on the net and decided to write a simple review. Bottom line is this sub rocks!

I own 2 of these and have them interconnected to my home theater system. Both of them have a residual bass effect when I watch movies, play cd's, or listen to the radio. I think having these 2 subwoofers would make any system better. The best part about these, you can set your power on passive, and adjust them to different frequencies to amplify different portions of any sound. I give these a 10star and would not want anything less than these. The size is pretty compact and they have the durability of steel. I have kids and they love to see what can go into the speakers and how much weight they can take. Well, I have had both of these with no problems for over 5 years. Excellent quality, excellent performance, if you get the chance purchase them and you will not be dissatisfied.

I have two AR subs. I have an older 6 1/2 powered sub I purchased from Ebay ( you would NOT believe how much base you get from this sub........ it rattles pictures in my living room and is only a 50 watt amp !) I have recently purchased an older 15" , 250 watt powered sub.... I do not even have to tell you about that one.....it is an absolute BEAST for what I paid for it! There are problems with EVERY type of electronic equipment, just comes with the territory, but I really like the AR stuff!!!
