if you are overwhelmed by the content of many acoustics books, then this should prove a useful addition to your library. it is a compact and comprehensive insight in key acoustical concepts and addresses a number of scenarios which are very useful - what should a church or auditorium or recording studio use for guidance? what are the means by which you can get there? this book is not for DIY'er in terms of building but in terms of understanding what your acoustic targets should be / could be and some valuable insights on getting there.

This is an excellent foundation for architectural acoustics, with discussions of the acoustics of various rooms. One disadvantage is that it's a reprint of a book published in 1950, so all the information is in the old octave bands. Still, it's very worthwhile.

You have a problem: To choice material to architect a control room, conference romm and the like.

This books shows you the way and explain its foudations.

If you want more, that's another problem...
