good product, little directions, March 25, 2008
This review is from: Acquarella Buffer Kit (Health and Beauty)
there should be directions that come with this. is the gray buffer surface rougher or finer than the white one? order matters! also, since the black surface creates scratches in my nails that are too deep to buffer out, i use a finer file for the first step instead.

DIRECTIONS WOULD BE NICE, June 8, 2008
This review is from: Acquarella Buffer Kit (Health and Beauty)
I AGREE! I just bought this product but where are the instructions for the buffer? White, gray, black sides I'm confused....I'm not a nail professional. I do love the fact these products are non toxic.

Great 3-way buffer!, November 29, 2011
This review is from: Acquarella Buffer Kit (Health and Beauty)
This is a fantastic 3-way buffer. I have searched high and low for one that actually works well, and I'm very happy to have found this particular one. I have very flexible fingernails with high ridges. They split and peel easily. Therefore, I like to keep them short and as smooth as possible.
Keeping the surface of the nail smooth is not as easy as it ought to be. There are lots of 3-way buffers on the market, but I've not found many that are effective beyond the first use. In fact, recently, I've not been able to find 3-way buffers at any stores unless they came with an entire manicure kit, which I didn't need.
The Acquarella Buffer Kit, however, was exactly what I needed. The 3-way buffer works amazingly well. After one use, my nails are so smooth, they look like I have about 3 coats of clear polish on them. My normally snaggy nails are silky to the touch and so shiny!
Some folks have said in their reviews that there were no instructions with the buffers. I don't know if the packaging has changed, but in the kit I received, the 2-way buffer (the pink one) says "Step 1" and "Step 2" on each side. The orange stick is pretty self-explanatory. And the baggie that held all three items had a sticker on it that said "Instructions" and then showed the 3 colors of the 3-way buffer with "Step 1", "Step 2", and "Step 3".
If you have not used a 3-way buffer before, basic use goes like this: Use the roughest part (the dark gray half) in a circular motion over all nails, smoothing out ridges. Second, use the white half in a similar motion to smooth the surface even finer. Finally, support the buffer, with the smooth gray side down, with your thumb and pinky (so it is somewhat bowed over your palm) and then buff the nails of one hand, and then the other. You will be left with amazingly smooth and shiny nails!
