4.0 out of 5 stars good product, little directions
there should be directions that come with this. is the gray buffer surface rougher or finer than the white one? order matters! also, since the black surface creates scratches in my nails that are too deep to buffer out, i use a finer file for the first step instead.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as effective
This buffer doesn't seem to be as effective as other buffers I've come across. I don't know if i'm supposed to do it a lot harder, but it's not worth all the extra effort.

I AGREE! I just bought this product but where are the instructions for the buffer? White, gray, black sides I'm confused....I'm not a nail professional. I do love the fact these products are non toxic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great 3-way buffer!, November 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Acquarella Buffer Kit (Health and Beauty)
This is a fantastic 3-way buffer. I have searched high and low for one that actually works well, and I'm very happy to have found this particular one. I have very flexible fingernails with high ridges. They split and peel easily. Therefore, I like to keep them short and as smooth as possible.

Keeping the surface of the nail smooth is not as easy as it ought to be. There are lots of 3-way buffers on the market, but I've not found many that are effective beyond the first use. In fact, recently, I've not been able to find 3-way buffers at any stores unless they came with an entire manicure kit, which I didn't need.

The Acquarella Buffer Kit, however, was exactly what I needed. The 3-way buffer works amazingly well. After one use, my nails are so smooth, they look like I have about 3 coats of clear polish on them. My normally snaggy nails are silky to the touch and so shiny!

Some folks have said in their reviews that there were no instructions with the buffers. I don't know if the packaging has changed, but in the kit I received, the 2-way buffer (the pink one) says "Step 1" and "Step 2" on each side. The orange stick is pretty self-explanatory. And the baggie that held all three items had a sticker on it that said "Instructions" and then showed the 3 colors of the 3-way buffer with "Step 1", "Step 2", and "Step 3".

If you have not used a 3-way buffer before, basic use goes like this: Use the roughest part (the dark gray half) in a circular motion over all nails, smoothing out ridges. Second, use the white half in a similar motion to smooth the surface even finer. Finally, support the buffer, with the smooth gray side down, with your thumb and pinky (so it is somewhat bowed over your palm) and then buff the nails of one hand, and then the other. You will be left with amazingly smooth and shiny nails!

4.0 out of 5 stars Instructions for polish but not buffer, July 1, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Acquarella Buffer Kit (Health and Beauty)
The only instructions with this kit relate to the use of Acquarella nail polish not the buffing tools. Totally useless. There is more info on the website on what order to use the buffing tool in. I wrote the rotation numbers on the buffer with a Sharpie, 1-Black 2-White 3-Grey. The tool that looks like an emory board is labeled step one and two but is technically steps 4 and 5.

If using the proper tools, manicures and pedicures are quite simple. This kit comes with the essentials, helping create the wonderfully feminine finishing touch. This product is a free bonus with a $20 purchase of Acquarella products. Visit thecheekypeach.com for more natural reviews.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow nicest shine, January 14, 2012
This review is from: Acquarella Buffer Kit (Health and Beauty)
Best cleanest shine I have gotten from any buffers. Really preps nail for polish but I would use buffer just on its own. In fact I'm going to now. But if u r using polish after it definitely do a careful job step by step & polish will have a great base. I got this with shimmering polish and it was a little streaky where I didn't polish carefully and great where I did polish carefully.

5.0 out of 5 stars works great., September 10, 2011

Both tools work well, good price too, better than stores. Gentle on nails as well. File isn't very strong for very rough nails, but world good for well maintained nails.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheaply made and doesn't work well, March 25, 2011
This review is from: Acquarella Buffer Kit (Health and Beauty)
doesn't work well. The sides peel off and they don't buff very well. I eventually threw it out after two trials to use it. Bought Tweezerman which is way better - more durable.

5.0 out of 5 stars It really works, March 18, 2011

This actually works. I took fake nails off after wearing for months. My nails had lots of ridges and were in horrible shape. After using this one time the ridges disappeared. I thought I would have to walk around for months with ridges. It does make your nails tender so you might want to do it in small increments. Thanks to this product, I don't have to worry about keeping polish on my nails because my nails look normal again. Great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little nail kit, February 14, 2011

I love this buffer kit; it really smooths the nails before I apply polish. It also shines them up if I want to go "naked". Very nice product, especially when used with the Acquarella nail polishes.
