5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps getting better January 18, 2013
By Jaime
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I love how Kathleen Brooks just puts us back to where the last book ends like we were not impatiently waiting to read all about the latest Davies brother.

I think this is by far the best book of the Bluegrass Series. I laughed out aloud a lot with this book. Miles is a sarcastic, hard working guy and Morgan truly is perfect for her. I do have to admit that I think the sisters, Edna, and John Wolfe really stole the book!

This is def a must read. I can't wait for the next one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Really disappointed February 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I will start high points. I enjoyed catching up with all the characters from the previous books, and I was glad to see Miles find someone. I have loved the other books in this series, however, this one fell short. I found several editing errors such as hers when it should have said his. The plotline was hard to follow with all the jumping around, and even though a good bit of action occurred, the heroine of the story was not directly involved in much of it. Even the final action scene was anticlimactic with Morgan running around in the woods barefoot cutting up her feet but yet never getting them treated and then walking around all over town to the cafe. Miles never even acknowledges she was injured, and there is never any mention of what happened to the guy she shot. I also felt like the characters jumped into both sex and marriage awfully quickly...so much so, that it seemed unrealistic. I hate to be negative since I really enjoyed the other books, but hopefully the next one will be better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally Captivating! January 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've said it in one of my earlier reviews of Kathleen Brooks' books and I'll say it again. . . Her books keep getting better and better! I could not put this book down once I started reading it. Miles' and Morgan's feelings for each other are so strong and compelling. I couldn't help but feel what they were feeling, too. A highly anticipated read which did not disappoint!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another awesome book in this Bluegrass series. January 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Another great book in the Bluegrass series. My favorite of the brother is Miles(and Cy), he has been alone for a long time and just suspected he would be like that forever. He had a girlfriend in high school but that was ruined by Morgan Hamilton. Morgan was the town bad girl and when trouble happened Morgan was always behind it. Miles is it at a graduation party and is going to ask his girlfriend to stay and be with him and is waiting for her to show up. Morgan follows Miles into the bedroom and wants to thank him for never being mean to her and also for helping her with school stuff. To thank him she kisses him, and Miles is not expecting it & that he really, really likes the kiss. Miles girlfriend walks in during the kiss and is very upset. Miles says something mean and Morgan runs off.
Seventeen years later Morgan has to come back in town on business. The company she works for is trying to buy a company that is owned and ran by Miles. Morgan has changed alot and is not that trouble making girl she used to be and hopes that the town is willing to forgive and forget. Morgan needs to acquire the company, so she is going to see if Miles wants to sell. He does not so she is going to farmers to see they want to go with their company. Crazy stuff starts happening on these farms that she is visiting and of course everyone thinks that bad girl Morgan is behind it all.
It is a very funny, heartwarming, and tear jerker story. I loved this book, definately my favorite of the series so far. It made me cry at work while I was reading it.

3.0 out of 5 stars bluegrass brothers February 11, 2013

I have enjoyed this series, but the books have become too predictable. This latest book was not up to the standard of the other books in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Acquiring Love January 22, 2013
By Kathy L
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Another brilliant job by Kathleen Brooks! In this installment of Bluegrass Brothers, this story is Miles' and it is a hot one. Miles Davis is the head of Family Farms that is helping family farmers compete in the market against big business. Morgan Hamilton was the misunderstood rebellious teenager that left Keeneston after graduation 17 years ago. Their lives collide when Morgan is sent to Kentucky to try and buy out Family Farms from Miles Davis and the coop of farmers. Little did they know that the events 17 years ago would bring a love that's more than just acquisitions and mergers.

Kathleen did a fabulous job on this story. I cried, laughed, swooned, gasped and cheered. I was starting to think Morgan was up to no good but she surprised me. The twist and turns in the book were fabulous. Her books keep getting better and better. All the town characters are, as always, fabulous.

We get another glimpse of Cy. I know we have Pierce next but I really really want to read about Cy. I highly recommend you get the series not just this book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just Not Good... April 20, 2013
By Reader
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I have only read this book and not the series so perhaps that explains why so many other people liked this book while I found it so lacking. As a stand alone book, this book lacked depth, character development and was just simply not very good. The H is mean to the h from the very start of the book so it is very hard to understand why the h was completely devoted and in love with the H. It would have helped to see the H show some behavior that was H worthy for the readers to understand the h feelings for the H. From the start he was not very kind to the h and it makes it very hard for the readers to justify why the h would love someone that has no kind word or actions for her. He says means things to the h, he is completely judgmental and he spends most of the book accusing the h of things that she is innocent of. The h doesn't stand up for herself, never gets mad and the H never apologizes for any of it. One day he just believes the h and everything is fine. The readers never see any behavior that would outweigh the manner in which the H treated the h. We are left baffled as to why the h would want to be with the H if this is the manner in which he treats people let alone someone who he is suppose to be in love with. There wasn't even any acknowledge of his poor treatment of her.
