When I first moved to Nashville in 1985, I had an idea of the kind of band I wanted to hear. Walking by the Exit/In I did -- it was Webb Wilder. He started out great, and each album has gotten better in terms of material, production, and performance. "Acres of Suede" is his latest and best. If you like real rock and roll -- none of this pussyfoot "rock" stuff -- you'll love this album. My favorite tune is "rocket to nowhere," although "carrying the news to Mary" is a close second. Actually, they're all close seconds. This is a great album!

Lets face it... Webb Wilder and R.S. Field are two of the coolest guys ever to eat BBQ. The guitar tones on this album are second to none. I never fail to get cold chills when I hear the intro to "Soul Mate." They have been a major influence on such cult favorites as the Defenders of the Faith.

Webb Wilder's music is a gift to lovers of rock and roll. This album combines elements of Blues, Chuck Berry, Rolling Stones, Surf, and Country all craftilly arranged with GREAT guitar work and tones. Wilder "Tip's for Teen's" and "Rock and Roll Manifesto" is hilarious and a great intro to the rocker "Flat out get it". This cd gets better with each listen! There isnt a single bad track. If you can find a copy, dont hesitate!!

Cowboy grunge, swamp-a-delic, uneasy listening, call it what you like, this one is a real hoot! A few lines from "The Olde Elephant Man" sum it up best..... 'He took a lick from the ugly stick, he made the people of London sick. He had the looks that could fry a toad, make train take a gravel road." Need I say more.....
