Biography

There are roots-rockers and then there's Webb Wilder. The self-proclaimed "Last Of The Full Grown Men" is large enough for the big screen, hip enough to star in cult classic B movies, and tough enough to maintain a devoted worldwide fan base through a relentless never ending tour schedule. More Like Me, his first collection of new material since 2005, is classic Webb Wilder, an ... Read more in Amazon's Webb Wilder Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Webb's most polished -- in a gritty sort of way. September 9, 1998
Format:Audio CD
When I first moved to Nashville in 1985, I had an idea of the kind of band I wanted to hear. Walking by the Exit/In I did -- it was Webb Wilder. He started out great, and each album has gotten better in terms of material, production, and performance. "Acres of Suede" is his latest and best. If you like real rock and roll -- none of this pussyfoot "rock" stuff -- you'll love this album. My favorite tune is "rocket to nowhere," although "carrying the news to Mary" is a close second. Actually, they're all close seconds. This is a great album!

5.0 out of 5 stars Webb Rules! September 13, 1999
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Lets face it... Webb Wilder and R.S. Field are two of the coolest guys ever to eat BBQ. The guitar tones on this album are second to none. I never fail to get cold chills when I hear the intro to "Soul Mate." They have been a major influence on such cult favorites as the Defenders of the Faith.

4.0 out of 5 stars Webb at his swamp-a-delic best! June 26, 1998
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Cowboy grunge, swamp-a-delic, uneasy listening, call it what you like, this one is a real hoot! A few lines from "The Olde Elephant Man" sum it up best..... 'He took a lick from the ugly stick, he made the people of London sick. He had the looks that could fry a toad, make train take a gravel road." Need I say more.....
