This review is from: Across the Board: The Mathematics of Chessboard Problems (Hardcover)
The book should have been subtitled'knight's tours' (=hamiltonian paths). It includes endless variations on this theme (and little else) e.g. tours on nonplanar surfaces - even ones that only exist in theory! The book really amounts to little more than a monograph on hamiltonian paths - a subject for specialists only since there are no useful general theorems in this notoriously difficult topic. |
