Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

According to PW , "Smiles and giggles from the nursery crowd are virtually gauranteed by the quick, silly rhymes. Lively, imaginative additions to the paintings increase the appeal of an exceptional picture book." Ages 4-8.

I must've read this book a hundred times to my children and I was warmed and charmed 100 times. Simple, gentle, and way cool illustrations. A winner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review of Mirra Ginsburg's and Nancy Tafuri's Across the Stream, June 29, 2010
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Across the Stream (Paperback)
A perfect read for children ages 3 to 6. This is a beautifully simple poem that tells the story of a mother hen and her chicks who escape a fox pup, with the help of a compassionate duck and her ducklings. Ginsburg's poem is complemented by Tafuri's vivid and adorable watercolor illustrations.
