Editorial Reviews

Review

5 Coffee Cups - My initial response is "Holy Cow, what a great story!" There are well-developed heroes, an evil bad guy, good background, and enjoyable settings. The romance is great and there is a kissing scene that brings a tear to your eye for the way it shows true love. - Anya, Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance & More

5 Stars - Even though this book was a fast read, it is nothing short of brilliant. The plot was very original, pace was good, Characters and world both well developed. The twists kept me hanging on I NEEDED to find out what was happening. Overall it was a blast to read. I would definitely refer friends, and anyone else to read this book. - Were Vamps Romance Reviews

Lisa created a magical love story that gripped me from beginning to end. Talia and Keth share a timeless love. The story was short, i would have loved it if it had been longer but in all honesty it didnt need it. The pace of the story was perfect and the ending was beautiful. This story was very cute and i do have to say that when i got to the end, i almost wanted to cry because the story was over. :) A very good read.

For such a quick read, I was thoroughly engrossed in the characters. Talia and Keth are enchanting and easy to fall in love with. I liked the element of intrigue and agree with the other reviews; too short and I want more. I downloaded this author's next book last night and though it doesn't seem to be connected to Across the Veil, I'm excited to read.

I have been wanting to read this amazing short story for sometime now. I just had to find a way to do that on this not-smart-at-all phone. I found the solution! Smashwords! =)

I am totally amazed by Lisa's ability to write such an amazing story at just over 6000 words. There is so much emotion packed in this read that I was blown away!

I highly recommend this very descriptive short to everyone
out there....

A short, quick, sensual and addicting read! Love the way Lisa packed so much in a little package.

Princess Talia has been hiding in the human world for years as human actress, Natalie Thurmont. One day in her trailer she is shocked by the presence of Faldo. He is there to ask her help to find another Fae that was known to also be in the human world, Keth.

Talia and Keth have an amazing chemistry that pulls the reader into their relationship and makes you want more.

Awesome short story! I really enjoyed it. =) The characterization is great for such a tightly written story. I loved how the hero and heroine came together at the end.

Talia, Princess of the Fae, walks among humans known as Natalie--a star actress. Her life is going very well until it's suddenly interrupted by Faldo...the last person she expected to find in her trailer on the set. He wants her to locate Keth, another Fae, who in a different lifetime, was beyond special to both Talia and to Faldo. This short story has strong themes of revenge, betrayal, eternal love, choice and consequence. It's a very quick read of less than 20 pages. The copy I read had a few sections (of several paragraphs each) where all lines were indented (not just the first line of the paragraph), but was clean of typos and spelling errors. I enjoyed this quick foray into the paranormal....and the happy ending after a very dark moment. Recommended to fans of paranormal romance.

Content: sensual kisses (but nothing more), clean language.

Across the Veil is a sweet short story telling of two Fae lovers separated by an arranged betrothal, and their journey back to one another.

The heroine is Talia, a Fae princess, who has escaped the Fairy realm of Summerland into the human world, after being promised in marriage to Faldo, the brother of her true love, Keth. Unbeknownst to Talia, Keth has also crossed through the veil and has been hunting and killing vampires as he searches for Talia.

Faldo wants to eliminate Keth and reclaim Talia so that he can one day rule Summeland. He finds Talia thinking that Keth is with her, and when he is not Faldo leaves a tracking device with her to give to Keth should he come to her. Through a childhood spell Talia calls Keth to her to warn him of Faldo's treachery. Together they they set out to find Faldo and bring him before the High Council of Summerland to be charged and tried for his misdeeds.

The storyline is solid and moves along quickly with plenty of action and romance. The characters are strong and beckon you to learn more about them. Ms. Kessler has done a great job introducing us to the world of Summerland and it's inhabitants. My only wish is that there had been more of it.
