I've bought several books on this argument and i think this one is the best one. It starts from ABC and is rich of usefull tips. It's technical enough to tell you why things happens but not enough to be boring. I love this book. Just a remarque for the next edition: too many pictures are black and white.

I'm new to painting and to acrylics. I've bought lots of books on the subject and this is one of the best. It has a very thorough review of materials and then goes thru each acrylic technique in some detail (thin washes, opaque, textured).
My only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that too many of the pictures are in black and white which seems ridiculous for a book about painting. But the quality of the contents more than make up for that one shortcoming. A great book to learn more about painting with acrylics. I'd suggest also buying a book with technique demonstrations... I have bought several but am still searching for the perfect book.
