I am a member of a community theatre troop that is doing Brigadoon this summer and I was desperate to learn the Scottish accent. The book includes good illustrations and practice exercises and the included tape is wonderful! It's amazing to hear David Stern go between standard American speech and Scottish speech with such ease! I think if I keep practicing with the book and tape I will be able to master the Scottish accent.

Stern's Scottish accent is one of the worst I've ever heard. Perhaps his approach is sound but I don't want to sound like him and that destroys my motivation. Better to get some old Scottish radio broadcasts and copy a real accent.

The acting with an accent, scottish was a great help. It comes with a audio cassette as well as a book to help you along. It really helped my in my role in Brigadoon.
