Beth has done something truly spectacular: she has combined information on how to get started in any field of acting. Whether you are interested in pursuing a career or just learning more in the acting scene in MN, this book can and will help you. A detailed list of theatres, both professional and community is included as well as fantastic recommendations about acting classes to help improve your skills for the stage, on camera, or for voice-over work. She shares helpful tips on how to get an agent, how to deal with them, and how to market oneself as well as the benefits of being union vs. non-union talent. In addition to her own expertise, she includes tips from other top professionals in the market. Beth shares her years of knowledge in an informative, easy to read, and interesting format. It's a great how-to manual, a refresher course, and source of encouragement all rolled into one. It's written in a way that you can read it cover to cover or just go chapter by chapter as needed. Speaking personally, her book helped me navigate the theatre, voice-over, and on-camera markets in the Twin Cities after arriving in MN with no clue how to get started. Although tailored specifically for the Twin Cities, the lessons contained in the book can easily be applied to just about any market. You can't go wrong with this book!
