5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant facts and Perspectives, August 25, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Acting Now: Conversations on Craft and Career (Paperback)
I ordered Edward Vilgas' book ACTING NOW: CONVERSATIONS ON CRAFT AND CAREER a few months ago. I though it looked, and sounded very interesting, and perhaps offered something different thaN the usual fare. I not only was correct in my assumption, but this book is nothing short of fantastic. Of course, there is no dearth of books about acting, the "business", techniques etc., but not many books offer truthful interviews, facts, opinions from some of the most distinguished figures in the profession. I have re-read almost every chapter atleast (4) times. I am constantly impressed with the candid statements of Andre Bishop, Juliet Taylor, Henry House, among others. It is not only a bible for everyone in our profession, but useful pieces of information for anyone who can be labeled as "curious" or interested in acting, or the enteretainment industry as a whole. I only wish for more books like this one. Truly a class act.

An insightful, readable and personable book that brings an often-treated subject to life. Fun to read.
