For those of who read comics in the 70s, the phrase "Famous First Edition" immediately brings back memories of those great, oversized full reprints of famous comics -- and the first one in the series was Action Comics #1, naturally.

I did enjoy reading the Superman story, but this item is presented as "Action Comics #1". It didn't say anything about just being the Superman story from that issue.

I'm not furious about it or anything, but just wanted my fellow comics fans to know that you're not getting the full reprint here.

5.0 out of 5 stars I hope they make more of these. July 19, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It is a very entertaining idea. It's a picture book about a man from another planet with some very impressive abilities. I would like to see more stories about this character.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great stroy, hoping for more October 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
You only get the Superman story, not the other stories from the comic. I was hoping to see the other stories that are not normally reprinted. Disappointing.

3.0 out of 5 stars No original ads :( November 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you want to read the original origin story and that is it, it is a great purchase. I was hoping to come across the original ads in the comic book, but they weren't scanned. Kind of a bummer but for a dollar you can't go wrong.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super! June 30, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the book that started it all. I can not afford the original, but I love having it in e-form on my Kindle. This was the book that for all intents and purposes started the super-hero genre. This book is classic American mythology and is a must read for any American.

3.0 out of 5 stars A little hard to read
A good reproduction of the first Superman story. The only problem is that, due to the quality of the 1939 printing, it is hard to read on a 7 inch screen. Read more
