Terrific Video for teaching young children and toddlers,
By A Customer
This review is from: Bee Smart Baby, Action Words! 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Our son loved the Bee Smart Baby Action Words 2 video. It picks up where Action Words 1 leaves off and teaches a number of verbs to wonderful classical music--very easy for adults to listen to and very easy for little toddlers to learn from. Our developmentally delayed four year old learned so much from this videotape. Children act out each of the action words as the words flash on the screen. I liked this as much as the basic vocabulary series Bee Smart has. Action Words are important: teachng verbs helps young children learn what it is that they are doing.

Wonderful!,
This review is from: Action Words! 2 (DVD)
I bought all of the Baby Bumblebee DVD's for my son. When I saw that they had DVD's for the older child, I was very happy. My 3 year old son loves watching the kids in the program and he will repeat every word. Very good for kids that have speech delayed problems.

Worked well for us,

Both my son and my daughter simply love the whole "Baby Bumblebee" series. What's more important, the series seems effective in helping my older boy (three years) with his vocabulary, which is a big deal since his langauge is delayed. Another plus is that the all-classical music is easy on adult ears and nerves.
But to be realistic, the production values are inexpensive and it shows. It's very academic and adults can expect to find it boring. That having been said, I wouldn't assume that this has anything to do with how children will respond. Many may like the plain style, since it makes the show quite easy to follow. It also means the series can be trusted not to confuse or upset tiny children with fast-moving fantasy material, which might happen with videos geared towards the three-and-up crowd. From where I'm standing, this series is best for language delayed children or maybe those who are just on the cusp of talking and can use some new words. If this describes your child, I think it's worth the investment to try one video in the series, and then to buy more if it works well for you.
