4.0 out of 5 stars Not Fancy but Works Great! August 3, 2012
Verified Purchase
I have been using this for over a month now and I have to say I am quite pleased. I saw other reviews that gave this a low rating due to the quality of the item, but I guess it all depends on what your level of expectation is. I personally do not expect to get a high-grade medical device that will last me years when I am paying less than $30 for it. It does have some flaws but nothing that is flimsy or down-right horrible.

Outside - It is made of hard plastic type material. It is very sturdy so it can hold your foot in the correct position. There are no rough edges and the plastic is molded well. The plastic part that goes around your foot is actually open on the bottom, it wraps around your foot on either side with one side overlapping the other on the bottom of your foot. This is so you can adjust it to fit correctly on your foot.

Inside - There is a fabric liner inside that has a bit (tiny bit) of padding in it so you do have a decent amount of comfort between you and the plastic. There is a small slit that goes up/down in the cushion right at the place where the foot and leg meet. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be there or not, there are no finished seams on it. In an case, it has not caused any problems and the fabric hasn't unraveled or anything. There is also a fabric liner on the inside of the part that goes around your foot. It is comfortable and well crafted. I have had no problems with anything rubbing me anywhere and the fabric areas cover all the hard plastic parts so your skin does not come in contact with it anywhere.

Straps - There are 3 Velcro straps that wrap around, two on the leg and one on the foot. There is also a separate Velcro piece that you can attach to the bottom of the foot after you have it on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heaven on earth with plantar faciitis September 22, 2009
I got plantar faciitis in both feet during my 3rd pregnancy. I didn't know what it was and so I let the problem go on far too long. I tried several different types of night splints and this one was by far the best. The others pulled my foot at such an angle that it would make my entire leg hurt all night long. This one does just the perfect angle. Also I like that my heel sticks out. It makes it a lot cooler and I like to feel my sheets with my feet. My feet always felt incredible after a night in this splint.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for women with small feet July 29, 2010
I wear a size 6 or 6 1/2 and this "small" size splint hits the ball and toes of my foot instead of the arch as stated in the description. It would have been fine if it was hitting on just the ball of my foot, or the ball of my foot closer to the arch, but this barely hit the ball of my foot and was hitting more of my toes so I kept slipping out of it. If you can't keep your foot in, it defeats the purpose of the device. I thought it was a great splint, but only for someone with a longer foot than mine.

And also be warned - the company charges a 15% restocking fee to return! But "customer service is their #1 priority"!! So now I get to pay to ship it back ($6.95) and will loose the original shipping cost ($6.95) and the 15% restocking fee ($6.38). More than $20 spent and still need to buy a splint.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly comfortable February 21, 2011
By Ann
I easily forget that I have this on -- and I wake up in the morning with much less cranky feet. I'm an 8.5, and it fits fine. Any smaller, though, and I think it would be too big. I think a size 5 foot would swim in this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wearable!! July 9, 2013

I've had many bouts of plantar fasciitis over 30 years. Feel like I could open my own clinic by now since I know all the exercises & treatments.
In the past I've tried one night time elastic sock with strap arrangement that was miserable. This year I searched many internet sites for a night solution that would help. Most devices get poor reviews from the sufferers. This one had good reviews & I concur. It is pretty comfortable & your foot doesn't have to be encased in a sock. Being a size 8 (shoe) woman, it is a bit loose in the foot part, but I found I could add a microfiber folded cloth underneath to make it fit more snugly; otherwise my foot wasn't in a position to get enough night time stretch.
I can move around during the night without much noticing the splint & sleep well. Can even get up & hobble to the bathroom without removing it.
Most important, it IS helping to relieve pain. Significant improvement over just doing the exercises & icing. It is definitely worth the price.

Along with inserts-(I used Spencer's), to wear during the day, the right exercises, and morning foot soaks made my feet NORMAL again without pain! Use consistantly and it will work to help heal! comfortable enough to sleep in, just don't fasten too tight! A GREAT product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works wonders for my Plantar Fasciitis October 4, 2013
Verified Purchase
I have Plantar Fasciitis in both feet, have had it for about 10 months because I was stubborn and didn't know what it was and just keep "plowing forward" until I finally went to a podiatrist because I was almost to the point where I really couldn't walk by the end of the day. The podiatrist didn't really offer much treatment other than using ice and getting a custom insert for my shoes and possibly cortisone shots or surgery in the future (NOT and NOT!!!) and he certainly did not mention anything about getting a brace. So I started perusing the internet since I am now desperate to get this fixed. Found out that wearing a brace during the night to keep my foot at a 90 degree angle would help with the morning pain. I was skeptical but desperate. So I now put ice on my heels several times a day, I have stopped walking unless absolutely necessary to give it a chance to heal, and I ordered 2 different night splints to see how they worked. Well the first morning I stepped out of bed I could not believe it - - NO PAIN for the first time in months and months!!
I purchased this night splint and another one that is more like a plastic "boot", and have been wearing them on alternate feet for over a week to test each one out. I prefer this one because it works just fine and is much more comfortable and not as big as the boot. The boot is more "stable" - - it really holds my foot in place, but I have found that doesn't matter - - even though this splint allows my foot to move around, it still is keeping my foot at a 90 degree angle and is doing the job. Its not as "hot" as the boot and it doesn't have to be strapped on very tight - - I hate the feeling of being "confined". I have determined that the "boot" made me wake up much more often than this splint, so this splint wins! I just ordered another one today, and I am going to kick the boot to the curb. This one is the winner!

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed.
These do not brace feet at a sharp enough angle to make a difference. I wore these for a month solid and saw no improvement.
