This text is concerned with the production of active carbons. It gives a description of their properties based on the characteristic features of the porous and chemical structures of the surface. Theoretical data which provides the means of quantifying the porous structure of active carbons with reference to different systems of adsorption and various experimental measuring techniques is also presented.
