This book is certainly not light reading. The book starts with high level overviews and history, both of vPro and out of band management. I describes the physical components of vPro and how they are integrated within the system, but also how they are separate from the OS for security and reliability. Then the book goes into each function of vPro, telling what the function does, how it's secured, and how to configure it for use. At the end of the book, it does include an appendix showing how to do a quick setup which is perfect if you want to test and demo the capailities of AMT (or have less than 50 PCs at one location).

I would hesitate to say this gives you a roadmap of how to deploy vPro in an enterprise, but it's a good resource for admins who need to understand what is required to set up the support systems. I wish I had this book two years ago when I was tasked with creating the whole plan and deployment for all our machines.

I highly recommend this book for managers and admins who want to learn what AMT can do and how it does it.

It may not be the greatest literature but it definitely does its job when it come to revealing the intricacies and practical use cases of the lityle known Intel subsystem (AMT). One more thing is that this book is simply rare when it comes to the subject - as if it was just for an elite.
