another great introdution to statistics course from Moore, February 12, 2008
This review is from: The Active Practice of Statistics (Paperback)
David Moore is a well known statistician who has been very active in the American Statistical Association (former President) and in statistical education in general. He has written many outstanding statistical books including several introductory books. The latest thinking in statistical education is to make the lessons active for the students encouraging participation in experiments. This book and the associated CD ROM accomplish that goal. Students learn more and appreciate statistics better when they actively participate in the discovery of statistical ideas. The other reviewer has given a very unfair review simply because he felt deceived about the inclusion of the CD ROM. His gripe is with the publisher and not the author. His review should be based on the content not the preceived deception!
