If figures..., August 30, 2008

So, like the other reviewers here, I finally find a shaving cream I really LOVE, and BAMM! it is discontinued. Do marketing people anywhere have the faintest CLUE?? This irks me no end that such a good product is taken off the shelves with the lame excuse of 'poor sales.' I have to think there was some other problem with the product they aren't telling us.

Expired shave cream, September 9, 2011
This review is from: Edge Active Care Revitalizing Shaving Cream For All Skin Types - 5.5 Oz (Health and Beauty)
My grandmother, a frugal kind of lady elected to gift me a 3 year supply of this shave cream ( 12 bottles ) for my birthday last week.
She's the kind of woman who is known if she thinks you've got B.O. to give you a gift of soap and deodorant.
So apparently I needed to shave.
I don't know where she found it, but the manufactures box indicated an expiration date of 2005. I don't know where she found it, but I'm sure she didn't pay more than a $0.25 a tube, likely on sale at the dollar store. Like I said very frugal.
Any ways, at first use the cream was kind of curdled like cream cheese, but way thinner like liquid soap so I thought it might actually be bad.
But then I simply shook the way out of date tube of shaving cream and voila, good as new, it came out smooth as could be and fluffy, like a thin toothpaste, I applied it very lightly on my face.
great coverage, no foaming, but foam gets in the way of getting a close shave anyways, as I use a double edge safety razor.
this is simply very good shaving cream, it left my skin very soft and the shave was amazing. I typically just use Proraso, because it's very good shaving cream, and I don't shave very often so a tube lasts me a long while.
I would rate the quality of this shaving cream as on par with proaso, even being 6 years out of date.
For long term storage shaving cream, I would not hesitate to suggest this shaving cream, Whether it be for your BOB, or just buying in bulk so you don't have to worry about it going bad, as 6 years after expiration, it's still perfect.

Great product!, January 19, 2011

I've used several of these no-lather shaving creams, and I definitely prefer them to the canned variety. I have sensitive skin and these work better. The Edge product works almost as well as the much more expensive varieties. I definitely recommend this.
