4.0 out of 5 stars Guitar Hero Drum Set
This drum set is well-built and fun to play. The 3 drum heads and 2 cymbal plates are durable and responsive. Realistic bass drum action comes from the foot pedal, which has a Velcro pad to help it stay put on a carpeted floor. The overall design is terrific. With practice, the drummer can produce realistic drum rolls on the pads, due to their good rebound under the...

This was the only place I could find a just a Wii drum without the entire Guitar Hero package. We already had 2 GH guitars and wanted the drums only for a birthday present to add on to our system. There are some listed on ebay, but the shipping was outrageous!! Amazon's price was higher, but I felt more secure buying through them than with ebay in case there was a problem. The shipping was cheap ($3.99) and the drums came in on time for the birthday! We are having a lot of fun perfecting our guitar and drumming skills!!

Easy setup, you should get this, it' really fun. Especially at a discount price. The drums covers on this are more durable than the drum covers for rock band drum set. Got it used in near new condition. Pretty durable. I was a little hesitant since the floor sample at Toys-r-us had a broken cymbal. The cymbals are flexible but sturdy, though not much will stand up to deliberate abuse. It has held up to my 4 boys very well.

Our entire family enjoys Guitar Hero for Wii. We can have up to 4 players at one time with all the band members. Guitar, Drums, Base, and Vocal. The music choices are great because they have older 70's and 80's songs as well as 90's and today. If you enjoy music and games you will love this! Lisa, Bellevue, WA

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Drum Set, September 22, 2009
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Activision Drum Set Nintendo Wii Drums / Cymbals for Guitar Hero World Tour (Wii) (Video Game)
I bought the Guitar Hero: World Tour (Complete Band Game) for the Wii last year when it came out. I recently bought Guitar Hero 5, have Guitar Hero: Van Halen on the way due to their promotional offer, and have pre-ordered DJ Hero. A week ago my red drum pad lost all sensitivity. I contacted Activision recently. I am NOT covered by warranty as it only last 90 days, which is typically understandable. I take extremely good care of everything I own. Their product stopped working, something when researched has had TONS of problems and their suggestion to me was buy a NEW drum set at $99.99. I asked if I could buy just parts, which I was told they do not do. I shouldn't have to pay that much for something that stopped working less than a year later.

I have cancelled my DJ HERO pre-order and will never buy from Activision again. And I forked out nearly $200 for it when it first came out.

Also, Activision is extremely hard to get in touch with. They do NOT except e-mails. You have to call. They accidentally hung up on me, so I had to wait twice as long to find out they'd do nothing for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars New Drum Only Kit, February 19, 2009

I have purchased the Drum Only Kit Released Feb. 2009.

Drum kit functions properly without any sensitivity or quality control issues that were reported with the drums in the Complete Band Set last year.

I would have given a full 5 stars if it wasn't for the sound level of striking the drums. Volume on the tv needs to be kept pretty high to drown it out.

If drumming is really your thing I might be tempted to wait for an aftermarket set such as those already out for Rock Band made by Ion.

2.0 out of 5 stars Unresponsive pads miss many beats, December 19, 2009
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Activision Drum Set Nintendo Wii Drums / Cymbals for Guitar Hero World Tour (Wii) (Video Game)
Pros: These can be used on both Rock Band Wii games and on Guitar Hero Wii games (Rock Band equipment can only be used for Rock Band Wii games). The pads do provide a nice rebound and are quieter and more realistic than the Rock Band drum.

Con: They simply don't provide any reliability in actually registering the beats when you play the game. Ironically, they do better on the Rock Band games than they do on the Guitar Hero games. I have found this drum kit to be so bad on Guitar Hero games that it is simply unplayable -- I only use it now to play Rock Band, and it still misses registering a good 5-6 beats per song. I have had Rock Band 1 drums, Rock Band 2 Drums, and these drums. After scouring to find a decent affordable drum kit, I have concluded that none exists yet. Your best bet is probably to buy a Rock Band 1 drum kit, and then buy some metal reinforcements for the bass pedal, as the bass pedal WILL break.

Drum set didn't work. Still have yet to get a replacement for defective parts (cymbals), or even a product return label from seller. I'll think twice next time before buying anything used again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Most outrageous price tag I've ever seen., October 7, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Activision Drum Set Nintendo Wii Drums / Cymbals for Guitar Hero World Tour (Wii) (Video Game)
Something is definitely screwed up. The drums themselves are awesome, very easy to set-up and use, and very fun to play. But Amazon's price tag of $158 is robbery. I bought my drum kit used at my local game store for $20! Even though it's used, the quality is like new, and it works perfectly. I think there's a glitch or something, because the FULL BAND KIT with GUITARS, SOFTWARE, AND MICROPHONE is only $145!!! I'm being charged $15 extra for one drum set, when I could get the drums, guitar, microphone AND video game for $145? Someone needs to look at that, because that is completely broken to me. If you want to get the drums separately, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for a cheaper set. Check your local used game store. I got mine for $20, and it works like a dream.
