Book Description

October 2008
This book is the resource for parents and grandparents looking for fun activities for kids under age 10 in Houston. It is categorized by the months of the year to help adults quickly find the best activity for their kids. Details like age recommendations and event descriptions help families identify kid-friendly activities quickly. Parents can now save time with this valuable guidebook to more than 100 activities for kids under age 10. Unlike others, this book includes specific 2006 dates for each activity so readers avoid time on the phone and Internet researching details. Plus, the descriptions are based on a Houston mom's real visits, not corporate advertising. Each activity includes a: *category or type of activity *description *recommended age *admission price, if one applies *physical location *web site and/or phone number for more details *place for kids and parents to evaluate the activity based on letter grades given in school Parents, grandparents and other adult friends from Houston and the surrounding area love this book because it helps them quickly identify events suitable for their child. Use this book to unleash the good times and make wonderful memories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Creative Ideas for Fun with the Kids, December 14, 2005
Megan Salch has assembled a great collection of activities in and around Houston for the whole family. The entries are arranged by month and, although some are date-specific, many activities are accessible throughout the year. Each listing includes a description, recommended ages, admissions, locations and Web sites. There is even room to rate the location and make notes about the experience for planning future visits.

Megan is a Houston Mom who makes real-world recommendations for activities families can enjoy together. The next time you are looking for ideas for a fun outing, pick up your copy of "100+ Activities for Houston Kids" and choose one of the educational, adventurous or just plain fun things to do you will find there.

3.0 out of 5 stars I dont think it is worth the money..., August 27, 2006
Yes, it does give activities for kids in Houston. Most are pretty common sense (i.e. local library, Aquarium, Moody Gardens, the Galveston Ferry?) It is done in calendar format, so it gives some date specific activities as well as year round activites. There were some nice surprises, but nothing that could not be found in the Family section of a good sunday newspaper or on the internet [...]. I will use it, but not worth the $.
