A great, must-have tool for any school counselor.,

Jackson's activities are fun, pertinent, and easy. Each "lesson plan" consists of topic area, concept, method, time & materials needed, activity, and discussion ideas. This book has been a life-saver, not just when I was a first year counselor, but daily as I've planned classroom and/or small group activities.

This book is a great way to interest students in the subject you are trying to teach. I am a high school Family & Consumer Sciences teacher and find this book very helpful when I am teaching communication, self esteem, and health issues. Jackson's lesson plans are easy to follow and easy to modify. Highly recommended for any teacher.

Tom Jackson's books are filled with great activities. I have worked for a mentoring program for 4 years and I would consider this book to be one of the most valuable resources I have used to teach our youth and families about positive communication, avoiding drugs, and peer pressure, as well as numerous other topics. Jackson begins by explaining why experiential learning is so effective, and continues by explaining how to use it. He follows this basic instruction with multiple activities, listed alphabetically and labeled by topic. Our program has used these activities repeatedly and successfully. As I anticipate changing jobs this year as I enter the school counseling field, I will probably make this book one of my first purchases for my new job.
