Romantic Comedy the way it used to be,
By Fraser Sherman (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Actress And The Marquis (Paperback)
"Actress and the Marquis" reminds me of a 1930s romantic comedy--everyone's constantly going in opposite directions without realizing, everyone has a conflicting agenda and if a conversation can be plausibly misinterpreted, it will be. The comic timing is great, and it's always nice to see a heroine who has some focus for her life other than whether or not she marries the hero. This is Holbrook's best book, a charming romantic romp.

One of my favorites!,

I love pulling this book out to read when I need a fun read and a good laugh! I think it's cleverly written. It's delightful, romantic and funny. I like that the heroine is strong and intellectual. A great summer book.

I loved this book!,

It was well written with plenty of humor, interesting situations, and lots of "action" (not action action, but isn't stale and slow moving, unlike some).
