I purchased this item for my father. It has definitely paid for itself! Just a heads up for those planning to purchase this item... The scanner itself is CP9145 NOT CP9150. I had 2 of these delivered and thought I was sent the wrong product each time. According to the manufacturer, a CP9150 is a CP9145 with extra cables included which allow you to test a greater selection of vehicles. Hope this helps.

I love it. I have only had it for about 2 mo. and i have helped so many friends find out what's wrong with thier car's when they were afraid of bringing it to the shop for a 60-80 dollar diagnostic fee to find out thier gas cap was bad!!! If you gonna buy one of these you have to go with the 9150 because it does all those domestic cars older than 96 that the other scanners actron sells don't. They only do OBDII. Well worth the 270$ we paid for it.

Just a comment about the Eagle Talon comment. In order to use a product successfully one must understand the basics. I have used this product through a friend and think it is worthy. I was a Jeep/Eagle technician for many years. Even though it says Eagle on your vehicle it is actually a Mitsubishi Eclipse. That is why the connector doesn't work. At the dealership we had a whole separate set of diagnostic tools just to service these types of cars (there were others). Also OBD1 & 2 is not necessarily meant to tap into other computer systems on your car like ABS, etc if they are not linked. We also had different connectors and equipment for different systems.

This scanner (KIT) reads both OBD1 and OBD2 systems. It helps alot with troubleshooting emisions systems and controls. It also reads out data on systems with the engine running,O2 sensor, T.P.S.,coolant,rich or lean fuel injector setting and more. I think it is the best affordable scanner.The CP9150 is a CP9145 scan tool with the cables needed for OBD1 readouts

This product is advertised to enclude cables to read codes on, among others, 1989 to 95 Chrysler products. The cable to connect my 91 Eagle Talon is not only not included but the company has none and is not planning to get one. When I bought this 91 Talon (New) it was Advertised, sold, serviced by Chrysler and carried a 7 year "Chrysler Bumper to Bumper Warrenty". This is a Chrysler Product. The CP9150 is actually a CP9145 with extra cables and a case. (Not mentioned in advertising). When I inquired about getting a cable (not included) for my 91 Talon, I also asked why I could not read the fault codes on my 2000 Cadillac STS and 99 Chevy Conversion Van this is what I understood the Actron technicion to say: "This unit is not capable of reading and will not read problem codes for ABS, Body, Drive Train, Transmission or Motor, only Gov. regulated emission codes." I certainly got the wrong impression from their Ad. I sent it back.

This is one awesome tool I was able to save big on this scanner; this is a tool that pays for itself. I was able to troubleshoot two of my co-workers vehicle without charging them, one was a BMW & the other one was a Lincoln town's car the next time everyone got to pay the piper. It definitely pinpoints the actual fault code. I had it for about 6 month; I just started to use it. I even found the problem with my 1988 Buick OBD I It's an amazing product. It has all the attachments for OBD II & I, which enables one to get the job done without, having those dealers & shop ripping you off. If you did take it to the shop after scanning your vehicle, you can definitely intimidate those dealership by representing your fault to them. Being that they know what your talking about, they will not tend to make markups suggestion to you, if you know what I mean.

Great unit, Does everything that it was advertised to do . The real time sensor values that his unit display's, our very valuable when trying to diagnose problems. Also the quality is great and the owner's manual say's that there is a 3 year warranty for crafstmenship. I have already repaired three cars which had Engine lights on with the aid of this unit.

This series of diagnostic tools does not handle ABS. I am not certain why ... whether the reason is merely a lack of software/firmware support for ABS or a physical interface issue.

Regardless, this tool has an easy to use menu structure and connectors for any imaginable vehicle.

Order was here FAST. I have played with scan tools from 1980 to date so know how they work. I got this 1 and in a few moments had used it on my Van (Dodge's) and Truck. I did see complaint's about what it WON"T do, and that it is a CP9145 in the case. Hey, read the add, its updated to CP9150, and not only for cables but programing. With OBD, it can work on about anything you connect it to. This is a great tool for not only DYI, but 1 that will work in a repair shop also. Like I said, I have only a few moments of use with it and for CEL problems, it was fast, and easy to use. Great tool, great price ...........

I have only used it on a OBD I system so far. It works great for the 1989 buick century and 1990 Buick LeSabre. The check engine light came on the LeSabre plugged it in and showed me that the cam sensor was losing signal. Replaced the cam sensor and the car runs great again. So it works just like I wanted and expected.
