I bought this probe thinking it was a direct replacement for my thermometer. According to the model number of the probe and the thermometer, it was a direct replacement. I ordered two of the things so I would have a backup. I did receive them quickly, but was disappointed to find when I plugged them into my thermometer it was reading 165F at room temp!! So, I figured maybe I got one bad one...NOPE! Both did the same thing. After a few calls and emails to the Acu-rite company, I found that they weren't as "rite" as they claim to be. Apparently, the thermometer that I have had an early model and late model! This probe was only designed late model. I would really have like to have known that before going through all this! The company was helpful and did refund my money, but the product is replacement was horrible!!
