Super Car - Poor documentation,
This review is from: Acura NSX: Honda's Supercar (Hardcover)
Being an NSX owner I was looking forward to a exteneded work about the development, design, factory construction process, testing, track related history and so on. What I really got was a rehash of factory brochures, press handouts, sales enhanced books with a history of Honda's rise from the ashes of WWII tossed in. This history can probably be easily found in other boods on the Honda product line. Few if any of the photograhs in the book have not been available via the many different handouts given by the dealer and American Honda. Little to nothing was shown of the manufacture of the car at it's unique facility and how certain problems were solved by their engineers and design staff. And even less is given about how the car is suported in the different racing venues throughout the world. It's strange and even sad that Japan's first major super exotic, the NSX, is given so little credit in the press, magazines, and publishers of books like this. It's even stranger that a well known author of automotive books, took the easy way out in trying to create a detailed work about the NSX with mainly press junket fluff. Not recommended for the serious car enthusiast among us.

another great brian long book,

the nsx is in the foremost the greatest sports car to come out of japan. nsx to skyline gt-r is like maclaren f1 to bugatti veyron. and this book is perhaps the best out there on this legendary car. i'm a fan of author brian long; he has a huge list of automotive books to his credit, the ones about japanese cars are unrivaled by any from any publisher. his standard formula consists of a brief history of the manufacturer, the story of the car's development from before the beginning to end, detailed evolution of the car to as recent as publishing date, a (sometimes more than) healthy amount of original press material and brochures, and sometimes a blurb about racing. i'm a huge fan of the way he typically lays out his books, tho i can understand some people would think reprinting the brochures is superfluous. the bottom line is, brian long is pretty much the only writer out there who gets deep w/ the japanese manufacturers, executives, and engineers about the subjects of his book. his books may not be as artistically beautiful as, say, those from coterie press, but they are lightyears better than most car books which are usually photographs and garbage writing. that said, he's also not overly technical (paul frere's book on the 911 is pretty much the most technically packed car book i've seen). this particular book, being on the nsx, is slightly bigger physically than usual and follows the formula i mentioned pretty well. if you're a fan of the nsx and want both technical and developmental details as well as color photographs to feast your eyes on, this is pretty much the only one that can satisfy

Great Book,
This review is from: Acura NSX: Honda's Supercar (Hardcover)
This was a great purchase - my partner actually chose it for Christmas and I had to get it from overseas as it wasn't in NZ. He absolutely raves about it - has amazing diagrams and great pictures/info etc. You won't be disappointed.

This is a must have book for all NSX fans. Great pictures and a easy read. Short on engineering and technicals, but I think the author was writing a coffee table book and not an indepth manual with a hard cover. I'm glad that I have mine.

I've been a car fanatic since I was 6, so I love books that have great pictures and stories of how a car is made. This one didn't disappoint. I recently bought my first Acura and wanted to dive into the history of the brand and its most storied car. I thought it was a great read and would recommend to Honda/Acura and other car fans alike.

My husband owns an NSX and because there were so few of them produced, the number of NSX-related items available is extremely limited - so this book is a rare find. This is a 'must buy' for any NSX owner. I could've special ordered it through a local retail book store, but it was about $25 more than buying it from this retailer. It arrived quickly, as promised. I was very happy with everything in regards to this purchase.

The book was in excellent shape and was exactly what I expected. I own an NSX and this is a great discussion of the conception and design of a superb car. Great service, good price. Thanks Amazon.

My dream car: NA1 NSX-R,
This review is from: Acura NSX: Honda's Supercar (Hardcover)
ive been in love with nsx ever since i saw it. this book does a great job of getting the history, techinical, pictures of the nsx. alot of pics of brochures and stuff. only draw back is that this book was published a little before the disconntinual of the nsx (2005). so it lacks information like, "how many nsx sold in its 15 year production". and it doesnt have info on the nsx-gt... besides that everything else is great. i wish they made another book on nsx with 100% complete info from the start to end.

My nephew always wanted a coffeetable book on his favorite car the NSX, but couldn't find one. I got him this one and he's totally satisfied with it thinking at first it was just photos until he opened it and noticed how detailed it was. He's big on info and specs and says this book has it all from concept to production of every genation to the future of the NSX. He's a 'debater' type person and now has an informative official book to back-up his bragging debates about the NSX even though it'll be years before he can afford to own one. THAT'S WHY I GAVE IT 4 STARS BECAUSE IT'S NOT MY BOOK OR MY INTREST.
