I bet you thought this music went out somewhere around 1980. WRONG!!! Ad Infinitum is just one of a killer cast of bands spearheading a real Progressive Rock revival! Excellent songs, superb vocals and musicianship, and delightful subject matter make this a truly magical listen! A cover painted by the Pope of Album covers, Roger Dean, ties the package up beautifuly. If you've never been a fan of this style of music before, I say try it, you'll like it.

Beautifully crafted progressive rock, done in a 70s style (Yes, Genesis, Kansas) but with contemporary recording technology. Great melodies, passionate vocals, intriguing lyrics and awesome production. For prog fans, this is a no-brainer.

This band is one of the new bands, from independents labels, that make sound with the purpose to keep the progressive rock alive but put in the future sound style. The cover by Roger Dean is one of the sign of the old progressive style influence. This is a new album but the band is formed by old musicians from others old bands. The sound is based on progressive vintage keyboards and great clear guitar solos, the recorded quality is excellent and the singer is great.

Why didn't these guys make it big in the progressive rock scene?? This is a great album that has hints of the great 70's progressive rock bands. Great mellotron and keys and super guitar work and superb vocals. Immortality, Waterline, and Overland sound like classics of the 70's. A Winter's Tale and All Hallow's Eve sound like they could be on Selling England. And to top it all off, a great cover from Roger Dean. Why didn't these guys make another album?? One of the top progressive debuts of all time!!!!

I loved this band from the first song I heard on an internet Progressive radio station. The music here is very much like if you were to take Genesis(70's), Sylvan, Jadis and Pendragon and put them all in a blender. Beautifully moody progressive rock in the vein of all the above mentioned bands. The use of 2 singers really helps fit the mood of the songs. Very very impressive CD. My only complaint is.. Where is their second CD???

This is enjoyable music. It always comes down to personal tastes but I don't get what is so horrible about this CD. Yes the sound may be a little too repetitive for some but who says there has to be endless variation for progressive music to be good? Most of us tend to like certain groups because they have a certain unique sound or can be grouped with other bands with a similar sound. I think there is a lot of imagination and cleverness shown here. Listen to A Winter's Tale. It's second only to Monty Python's 'Dead Parrot Sketch' in the clever use of the word fjord! Don't be afraid to invest in this CD.

I had purchased this CD on a auto-request, (genre suggestion) from Amazon.com.. and must say it was a very pleasant surprise when it arrived..... I am always looking for new prog music that truely is prog, this is the real deal.. right down to the artwork by Roger Dean himself..... Great musicianship, good vocals, (hence for 4 not 5 stars), lyrics are great, and songs are well crafted........ i dont know how these guys have passed me by before......well worth the purchase.. wish they had more music available.., well, ill be watching for some

Brilliant song writing, brilliant execution. This is pastel, harmonious classic (not neo) prog that harkens back to 1972 Yes and Genesis. However, if the style and lyrics are tribute, the melodies are all original. Waterline and All Hollows Eve are simply splendid, as good as the best of the 70s. Besides Echolyn, Ad Infinitum is the only other band that understands just what exactly was going on 30 years ago. One of the best albums I've ever heard. You will fall in love with this album if you understand what progressive rock is all about to begin with (that is, song writing not mere virtuosity).

Sorry, but this recording just did not do it for me. With all the great new prog bands (spocks beard, flower kings, glass hammer, to name a few) creating great new sounds, this recording to me sounded uninspired, lacking the tight heartfelt musicianship that so defines prog. As alluded to in the liner notes, it sounds like a prog record made for the sake of making a prog record.The death knell for me was the dennis deyoung sound-alike on lead vocals, uggghhhhh... Your money would be better spent elsewhere.

This is not the cream of the crop of prog...but it is prog. Not neo-prog or quasi-prog or prog metal...its prog. And its a real breath of fresh air. You'll love Physician heal thyself. I listen to it often...so will you.
