A Jewel of Music History...,

This review is from: Adagio Albinoni (Audio CD)
Thomaso Albinoni has often been overlooked, save his piece for Organ and Strings. This CD should bring any listener into admiration of his works. The first piece on the CD is the Organ and Strings, but the rest are Adagios from his Oboe Concertos. I just adore this CD and think it adds a brilliant touch to any collection. A Must Buy.

I have had this CD for several weeks and played it at least 4 dozen times. It takes me a long time to make up my mind on the quality of recordings. But, this is the best Adagio in G I have ever heard. It is played as it was written, clean, clear and crisp. The other 18 pieces, the Oboe Concerto's, are equally well done. If you are serious about classical music you can't afford to miss this recording!

First of all let me say that this is very good and worth buying. Next, i just want to comment that, To me it is interesting that if you listen to the difference between the Adagio in g minor and the rest of pieces , it is clear that they are much different. With a part of an Albinoni piece, Remo Giazotto made a sweeping, almost thematic score that seems to have more in common with a movie score than with Albinoni's music from the Baroque era. Just compare the music and you can hear it. But it's all beautiful and worth having. I love it !!

This is a CD that you can loose yourself in. The Adagio in G Minor is haunting and melancholy and beautiful. All 19 tracks are fluid and wonderful.

If you like classical composers, this release showcasing some of the classical works of the great Tomaso Albinoni is for you. A lot of these releases here on CD are done by a full orchestra and every piece that he had out is covered here very nicely by the members of it as well. The pieces themselves have a very simple , elegant, and very melodious air that is very good to the ears, and has no fancy tricks to it too. All that is on here is the pieces that the great composer himself has done, and is given rightful credit here too. There is also a very good way that they play here with this release, and the result sounds as if the great composer himself was in the orchestra and playing the piece with the members, or directing the orchestra himself. And the very simple elegance in this release is also carried through all the very simple and different pieces that are here, including Adagio in G minor as well. What is even nicer to is that there are other instruments here that play other pieces are equally given the showcasing , and not just the pianos. And I for one also like such different instruments being played accordingly and them and the players being nicely showcased equally. And in the classics , that is what matters. It is also a very nice thing too, and in fact it also reminds me of a very smooth and quite lovely musical blending of a tasty treat from food , albeit music wise. And it is very good and smooth as well done fine silk too. No static here, not one missed note, and no noise background in the piece as well too. If only other orchestras would play the classical music masters with as much style , flair, and finnesical class as this orchestra has with the great orchestral works by the great Tomaso Albinoni. If you want to get into the classics here, try them with the release by Tomaso Albinoni called Adagio. It is a very simple, elegant, lovely and very nice introduction to his works, and it is also done very good service by this most talented of orchestras as well.

Not exactly what I expected,

This product arrived quickly and in good shape. However, the music wasn't exactly what I was expecting, and somehow fell short. Both me and my father LOVE classical music, and I listen to a lot of Albinoni, but neither one of us was particularly fond of this mix.
