5.0 out of 5 stars I love my glass mug!
This glass mug is everything I had hoped for in a glass mug! Big enough for my morning tea, just pop it in the microwave and zap it! I am very satisfied with the mug, would buy another (and will, if I drop this one some day!).

The mug sold by Amazon ("Adadio Teas Glass Mug") is a dangerous, poorly made Chinese knock-off of a similar glass tea mug manufactured by German glassware companies. I have several sets of superior glass mugs and glasses that I purchased online elsewhere from the German companies Trendglas and Jenaer Glas. The Chinese glasses I received from Amazon had chips, scratches, bubbles, imperfections and were just absolute junk.

The German glasses, on the other hand, are great tea glasses. The mug sold by Amazon looks identical to the German variety in the picture, but it's absolutely a different glass. Maybe Amazon has a mixed stock, because I can't otherwise understand how someone can give this glass a good rating. The German glasses have their manufacturer's logo etched in the bottom of the glass. If you get the Chinese model, I'd suggest returning it as I did and look elsewhere for the slightly more expensive ($3-$4) and far higher quality Jenaer and Trenglass mugs.

1.0 out of 5 stars Broke too easily, August 13, 2010
This review is from: Adagio Teas Glass Mug (Kitchen)
My husband bought this glass mug because the one bought years ago (and had been used for some years) which was made in Germany finanlly came to the end of its life. Apparently this new one looked and felt the same as the old one. BUT after a month or so of usage, it broke when it was placed on a counter top. The difference between the old one that was used for several years and this new one that only has a little more than a month's life, without knowing the specification of production, this new one is made in China. Many products that are made in China are fine products, but not this one. After this one was broken, bought another 2 later. Same problem. Broke too easily and their lives are too short. It is not as "sturdy" as it claims on its box.

3.0 out of 5 stars Little too light, February 19, 2010

It's alright for what it is, a glass tea mug. It's not designed very well as far as the handles shape and placement. It is also quite light, I expected it to be sturdier.

I ordered eight mugs after my brother got one for my mom. After a couple uses, her mug developed a small crack. I noticed of the eight new mugs I purchased (through the order 4, pay for 3 deal), one had a small crack, five mugs had small hairline scratches, and two were unscratched. The mugs look great, I just wish the mugs were more scratch resistant.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too fragile, May 17, 2010

I have to agree with several of the reviewers. This item will not last the test of time.. The glass is very thin and fragile... as evidenced by the folks receiving these with defects out of the box.

If you are not into style... you might be better off buying a Pyrex measuring cup and using it for drinking tea :-)... really.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice mug, but fragile, April 5, 2010
This review is from: Adagio Teas Glass Mug (Kitchen)
I like this mug. I received it as a gift for Christmas. Mine came with a lid. Unfortunately I broke the lid soon after I got th gift. I use the mug regularly; not quite daily, but now I see a crack in it (others have mentioned that). I know that the crack was not originally there though. I'm disappointed that it's now cracked and I'll continue to use it until it falls apart. I've only had it for 4 months. It is obviously fragile and I need a sturdier mug.

Have to warn you this is a fragile glass item that can chip and break very easy. Mine came with a chipped handle.

The mug arrived with a large chip out of the handle leaving a jagged edge and rendering it unusable.

This is a mug which is made of glass... I'm really a little confused about what more can be said. It is perfect for tea drinking. The Russians, who drink more tea than anyone, drink from glasses made of glass. This is perfect for men with 'fat fingers' who really can't stand dainty little cups ... too small ... too fragile. This is perfect for 'hard use' with no strange substances leeching into the tea, no plastics being just a little bit 'floppy' when heated. Also, it can shatter when dropped ... so don't drop it.
Curiously, glass tea service is a rare and hard to find item (at least when you are trying to buy it). Get one or more today!
Order here and it will be delivered quickly, in a single piece, ready to be washed and filled. Be careful, this can hold a lot of tea, more than you may want to drink right now. Fill accordingly.
