5.0 out of 5 stars Great Guitar Playing Advice!, June 7, 2007
This review is from: Adam Levy: Play the Right Stuff - Creating Great Guitar Parts (Book & DVD) (DVD)
Adam really gives you the goods in this information packed video! The music
examples correspond directly with the book so you can follow along. The
topics covered in this book help you to spice up your playing & open up
endless possibilities with your studies.Adam's Concept's of Time,Tone, and
Touch will help you develop your own unique voice on the guitar.Other
concepts that are covered are Phrasing,Melody,Space:Vertical & Horizontal,
Triads,Dyads,Voice Leading,Slash Chords,Using a Capo,Grooving with the
Rhythm Section,Rhythm Phrasing,Voicings with Open Strings,& Practical Tips
Also included is a chapter on music theory. This book has something for all
levels of players. To close out the DVD,there's live performance footage of
Adam & an in-depth interview at Adam's studio where he discusses his own
playing influences,his guitar collection,amps,strings,and much more.A good
deal and worth more than the list price. The chapter on Voice Leading was
my favorite and a must-see.Highly Recommended!!!!
