Amazon.com Product Description

Teach your child the basics of balancing on a bike--a skill that training wheels don't teach--with this Adams Run bike for boys in blue and red. Everyone has to start somewhere, and Run Bikes are a great place for kids to begin the adventure of learning to ride a bicycle. Simple and safe, these little bikes have no pedals or chain and are regarded by many to be the best way to teach children balance before taking on the challenge of riding a bicycle by themselves.

A fun alternative to a sidewalk bike or tricycle, this Run Bike helps to develop balance and motor skills as well as speed up the learning curve to transition to a two-wheeler. It features a long, comfortably padded saddle for multiple sitting positions as well as an adjustable saddle height to fit a wide range of children from 2-1/2 to 5 years old. 4.0 out of 5 stars Well worth it!, August 9, 2010

My 3 year old boy loves this bike. His balance has improved in just a couple of rides. If it had brakes this bike would be 5-star. Based on his improved balance, he'll probably be able to ride his pedal bike without training wheels within a month.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic run bikes for 2-5 year olds, December 1, 2008
This review is from: Adams Boy's Run Bike, Blue/Red (Sports)
These are fantastic bikes. We got one for our 2 year old (blue) and one for our 4 year old (Adams Run Bike Girls 16 Pink/Black). They both love them. We can take them everywhere; they are light, easy to carry, and fit easily in our trunk of our car. The bikes have handles on the seats that make them easy to carry.

Both kids can balance on these bikes when they get enough speed, either by running or riding down hills; the youngest at only 2 years old! I am certain that they will transition straight to pedal bikes without training wheels.

The seats are adjustable for different heights.

The only drawbacks are that the wheels are molded plastic instead of inflated so they are quite hard (but no flats!) and the seats are not very comfortable.

I highly recommend these toys for kids starting around 2. Please do not forget helmets.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW -- Best gift ever??, November 29, 2008

This review is from: Adams Boy's Run Bike, Blue/Red (Sports)
We got this for my 2 year old boy after breaking a wooden "run bike" from Germany. My son LOVED this bike the moment he got it, and still does at 3 1/2. Anywhere we went people talked about it, and every kid wanted to try it. This bike teaches kids how to balance on a bike -- something that regular bikes with training wheels don't. Don't be fooled -- a bike with training wheels teaches nothing but how to pedal.

Not only was it fun for my son, but he was able to take his training wheels off his "pedal bike" on his third birthday -- in fact, the glide bike had prepared him so well that he was able to ride his regular bike on the first try, and was riding with ease the first day. (this was at least a year ahead of our other kids who did not use a run bike). He still prefers this Adams non-pedal bike to his regular bike, though, so I guess he just likes it better. The bike is also indestructible. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !! This is probably the best gift we have given based on it's popularity with our kids.
