Well worth it!,

My 3 year old boy loves this bike. His balance has improved in just a couple of rides. If it had brakes this bike would be 5-star. Based on his improved balance, he'll probably be able to ride his pedal bike without training wheels within a month.

Fantastic run bikes for 2-5 year olds,

These are fantastic bikes. We got one for our 2 year old (blue) and one for our 4 year old (Adams Run Bike Girls 16 Pink/Black). They both love them. We can take them everywhere; they are light, easy to carry, and fit easily in our trunk of our car. The bikes have handles on the seats that make them easy to carry.
Both kids can balance on these bikes when they get enough speed, either by running or riding down hills; the youngest at only 2 years old! I am certain that they will transition straight to pedal bikes without training wheels. The seats are adjustable for different heights. The only drawbacks are that the wheels are molded plastic instead of inflated so they are quite hard (but no flats!) and the seats are not very comfortable. I highly recommend these toys for kids starting around 2. Please do not forget helmets.

WOW -- Best gift ever??,

We got this for my 2 year old boy after breaking a wooden "run bike" from Germany. My son LOVED this bike the moment he got it, and still does at 3 1/2. Anywhere we went people talked about it, and every kid wanted to try it. This bike teaches kids how to balance on a bike -- something that regular bikes with training wheels don't. Don't be fooled -- a bike with training wheels teaches nothing but how to pedal.
Not only was it fun for my son, but he was able to take his training wheels off his "pedal bike" on his third birthday -- in fact, the glide bike had prepared him so well that he was able to ride his regular bike on the first try, and was riding with ease the first day. (this was at least a year ahead of our other kids who did not use a run bike). He still prefers this Adams non-pedal bike to his regular bike, though, so I guess he just likes it better. The bike is also indestructible. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !! This is probably the best gift we have given based on it's popularity with our kids.

What makes this balance bike better than most of the other ones out there? The back of the seat is also a handle, making it easy to carry. We live near the downtown of a small city. My son loves his balance bike and rides it to the library, to the park, on errands, etc. But, since he is 3, he sometimes gets tired, especially when we've dallied too long and it's naptime. That's when he begs to be carried home. Up onto my shoulders he goes. And we can then walk home, with him on my shoulders and me carrying the balance bike by the seat handle. That little handle has been my life saver.

We bought this bike for my son's 2 year birthday. He loves riding his bike!
When we first bought the bike for him, he could JUST barely fit on it and get the back of his bum onto the seat. At 2 and half now, he fits on it just fine. We were sold by the local bike shop that this was a great way to start your child learning how to balance properly on a bike, and that it would make the transition to a regular bike that much easier. It doesn't take long to get the hang of riding this bike, and my son was soon riding it up and down the street when we went on our walks. He also rides it around the house (the tires are some sort of hard foam, and haven't left any marks on the floors). Definitely recommend this for your toddler!

Worth Every Penny!,

I purchased this bike for my son and he loves it. He figured out how it worked and at 2 1/2 he was lifting his legs up and riding by himself, balancing. He's now asking for a pedal bike.
I wish I had bought this sooner! Very durable and lightweight. He can carry and flip it over on his own. Worth every penny. Pedaling is the easy part, the balance takes a little more time and with this bike it makes learning to ride regular bike so much easier.

We received this bike as a gift when my daughter was almost two (avid biking runs in the family). She had the balance and steering down in a few months and rode circles around her older friends on two-wheelers with training wheels. She is now a little over three years-old and yesterday, we bought her a two-wheel bike and had the training wheels taken off before we left the shop. Within 10 minutes of getting it home, she had taught herself how to add pedaling with the balance and steering skills she had already developed from the Runner. I could tell by watching her on the Runner that riding a "real" bike would be very easy for her. Now, the entire neighborhood is asking us about her "pedal-less" bike. Great quality (she had a few good wipe outs and bike is still in good condition) and the blue and red color scheme is fairly unisex...our daughter loved it and it will be passed down to our son when he's big enough to sit and reach the ground! No doubts about recommending the Runner to EVERYONE!!

Taught my 3 Y/O to Ride W/O Training Wheels,

My son received this bike for Christmas when he was three. It was tricky to put together, as the manual was a general manual for all of their bikes. Once we worked out the kinks, this bike worked miracles.
Our son's friends who had wooden balance bikes always wanted to borrow it and then wouldn't give it back. I assume it is because the seat seems more comfortable. I like that the seat is large and adjustable. My son just loved the way it looked and felt. Anyway, after mastering the balance bike, my son taught himself how to ride a two-wheel bike without training wheels in just a few hours. I still can't believe it. Apparently, balance is everything. So buy this bike. It is worth every penny. |
