5.0 out of 5 stars Adam's Fall
As a handicapped person, and a writer, I applaud Ms. Brown's understanding of the emotional problems we have. In this book and in Eloquent Silence, she shines. Her protagonist in Adam's Fall both loathes his weakness, and uses it for his own justification for doing nothing about it. Its a thing we all do. But as Adam realizes, we can make our misfortune our life, or we...

2.0 out of 5 stars These two are supposed to be adults?
This book was about a man who was injured in a mountain climbing accident and his relationship with his physical therapist. Lilah and Adam had been previously acquainted and hated each other tremendously. You'd think this would be a good prelude to a steamy romance, but it was not. Adam speaks to Lilah in such a filthy manner it's a wonder how she ever falls in love...

5.0 out of 5 stars Adam's Fall, September 25, 2002

As a handicapped person, and a writer, I applaud Ms. Brown's understanding of the emotional problems we have. In this book and in Eloquent Silence, she shines. Her protagonist in Adam's Fall both loathes his weakness, and uses it for his own justification for doing nothing about it. Its a thing we all do. But as Adam realizes, we can make our misfortune our life, or we can get on with the business of living, and in this book Adam gets on with it with the help of his physical therapist, albeit an unconventional one. It is very easy to lean on a handicap. People feel sorry for us and thus give us 'a break' for normally unacceptable behavior, but Adam realizes that this is not an honest way to live. Nor the way he wishes to live. Physical therapy is very painful, very stressful, and a struggle of monumental work. I wish more authors would use this as a platform to tell a story, be it romance, mystery or whatever: The handicapped do have love lives too.
Bravo, Ms. Brown, over the years you have blossemed into one hell of a writer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adam's Fall, June 25, 2003

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Adam's Fall (Paperback)
Adam's Fall is the story of Adam Cavanaugh, an extremely wealthy hotel owner who falls while on an outing with two friends. He is the only survivor and while doctors say he'll walk again Adam doesn't believe it and has went into a dark, depressive mood. He needs the best of physical therapists to help him walk again. Enter Lilah Mason, sister of Elizabeth, one of Adam's closest friends. Lilah is the best physical therapist and goes to Hawaii to help Adam walk again, even though she can't stand him.

This was a very good read. The story moved along at a quick pace. With the hard cover edition reaching just over 200 pages the story was told well, in what seemed to be just the right amount of pages. Nothing was lost in this story and it didn't drag along. The characters were very entertaining. Adam was well written in the fact that he's angry and scared of the possibility that he'll never walk again. Lilah is a fun, sassy woman who knows her mind and speaks it. She comes across as very strong and independent. Pete, Adam's housekeeper, was a delight. His character added charm to the book. Then the evil girlfriend, Lucretia von whats her name, added just the right amount of conflict for a love triangle. She is definitely the character you'll love to hate. She gets her just desserts in the end though.

Adam's Fall was a good, entertaining book to read. It is so good it can be read in just a day or two. Very well written and easy to read. Great job Ms. Brown.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book.. Lots of fun!, January 15, 2000
I thought "Adam's Fall" was an awesome read! It was witty, clever and well written. I, personally, was glad Sandra Brown didn't go into so much depth as she does is some of her other books and I really don't think you can compare this one to a book such as "Mirror Image". They are two completely different stories. It was nice to sit down for a couple of hours and concentrate solely on Lilah and Adam and their blossoming love. The passion was hot, the dialogue overflowing with excitement and feeling... There wasn't a dull moment. I'd recommend this book to anyone!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have listened to my tape about 4 times, and love it every time I hear it. It is an excellent romance with a bit of humor thrown in. If you love romance, you'll love this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the Best, September 26, 2005

This review is from: Adam's Fall (Paperback)
Adam Cavanaugh was on top of his life, young, successful, rich, good looking, athletic, you name it, nothing can go wrong with him. Then a mountain climbing accident left him paralyzed from the waist down.
Lilah Mason was his nemesis long before the unfortunate accident. They simply rubbed each other the wrong way since the first time they met. Lilah despised Adam's lifestyle, and the dislike was mutual as Adam also hated her sassy comments, the way she dressed, etc. Too bad, Lilah was the best physical therapist everybody in his circle knew. So they voted for her to be his physical therapist. At first she refused and he fought all the time. But Lilah didn't back off, she had lots of tricks up her sleeves to deal with difficult patient. Adam was in for the shock of his life, his brooding was no contest against Lilah's determination and cajoling, and although they were bickering day in and out, there were also tender moments. The words banters are hilariously funny. I love Lilah and poor Adam is a worthy opponent for her.
I have read three books with the same plot and story line: Come Lie with Me by Linda Howard and Promise Me Forever by Debbie Macomber and needless to say Adam's Fall by Sandra Brown is THE BEST of three.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sandra Brown at her best, January 27, 2005
This review is from: Adam's Fall (Paperback)
I've read at least two thirds of all of Sandra Brown's books and I have yet to see one that is better than Adam's Fall, although The Switch comes pretty close.

The elements are nothing new - two people who can't be in the same room without arguing are thrown together. Adam has no choice but to bear with Lilah's presence as his physiotherapist while he tries to regain the use of his legs after a mountain-climbing accident left him paralysed from waist down. And Lilah, bound to help Adam because of a promise she made to her sister, even as she tries to hide her attraction to him.

What makes the story worth reading is the way Sandra Brown captures the continuous tensions between the two, boiling below the surface - Adam as he comes to terms with his condition, and Lilah, determined to help Adam regain his confidence and the use of his legs.

The chemistry between Adam and Lilah just leaps out of the pages, especially when they finally decided to give in and listen to what their hearts have been trying to tell them for a long time.

I only wish this book was longer. I really did not want to let go of Adam and Lilah.

5.0 out of 5 stars her best, August 31, 2005

I am usually wary of Sandra Brown books...she makes her charaters unnecessarily complicated (usually attached but drawn to someone else types) that I usually dont enjoy. But this book was a bombshell. The first heroine with an actual spine. Easily her best, in my opinion!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Genius ...'nuff said!, May 27, 2005
This review is from: Adam's Fall (Paperback)
This book was the "BOMB" diggity. I absolutely loved it. I started it late one night with every intention of reading the first few chapters, then going to bed. FAT CHANCE of that though. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN! Literally.

The story is so well written. Usually books have highs and lows; this book stays on top the whole time. I can't say enough about how well developed these characters are, and how well written this story is. Lilah is hilarious. She's quick and witty. You'll absolutely love her. I laughed out load on several occasions. And you have to love the position Adam is in, especially if you know his character from 'Fanta C' and how these two met. I wish I could give this book 10 stars! It's that good. #2 on my favorite Sandra B. list. (`Two Alone' is #1) READ IT! You'll love it.
