Please DO NOT use this on any animal.

It does help repel fleas for up to 7 days, but really it works far better as a quick killer.

One started foaming at the mouth, so I immediately gave her a bath with dish soap.

After finding a few fleas on all 3 of my dogs and my kitten I knew I had a problem. After treating with Sentry drops and not seeing a difference, I needed something to use while waiting for my Frontline to show up. I got some shampoo for the dogs that cleared the fleas off perfectly. Only problem is, what can I do for the cat? I saw this flea mist at a local store and found my solution to bathing the cat.

I contained the cat on my tile floor in the kitchen and gave him a nice misting over his whole coat. Almost instantly fleas began to fall off and convulse on the floor before dying. This is why I suggest containing the infected animal to an area that is easy to clean. Fleas can carry tape worms and you don't want them eating the dead fleas.

Yes, this WILL cause your cat to foam at the mouth and drool. This is listed right on the Adam's website as a side effect because of the highly bitter taste. My kitty drooled for a while but ultimately had no other side effects. When it comes to flea products, cats are highly sensitive to different chemicals so not all products will work for all cats, some will have a reaction and some will not. That is not an issue with the product. For me the product did it's job and rid my cat of external adult fleas without having to bathe him. I have not noticed a flea on him since. My only issue with this product is the smell. It's an alcohol based product to aid drying but it's so strong and terrible it smells like you sprayed pure rubbing alcohol on your pets. It doesn't last long though, once the mist dissipates from the area you can't smell it anymore.

The product that was shipped was packaged very well...I would recommend revival pet products to anyone...they ship out fast and there products are competively priced. Besides, if you are looking for a good flea and tick spray...Adams has worked great for us for many years now.

I've used various products on my dog(s) over the years including flea collars, flea powder, and small applicators on the coat. Non of these products have worked as well as Adams spray. Generally a single application is good for around a month up to three months for an indoor dog, considerably less when the dog is outside most of the time. Must keep the animal dry and reasonably clean for maximum effect.

The larger 32 oz. Spray is a better value and is the size I use.

Update:
I've had this product and have use it for the past three years. My original review was 5 stars and this review revised to 3 stars. Some would say the fleas have become resistant to the solution while others say it drives the animal batty. It appears to me at this time that no spay solution alone will work by itself because of the limit of poison/insecticide that can be used on an animal. I find vacuuming the animal and areas in addition to the spray once it has fully dried on the animal to be most effective. Vacuuming frequently is better. This product appears to be largely alcohol. Alcohol will kill just about anything when applied in sufficient volume. The smell and feel of the alcohol is most likely the cause of the pet becoming disoriented. Currently have Vet's Best spray that does not contain alcohol. In time hope to give a report on this product.

Ovitron and flea bombs, when used with great care, are the most reliable. This is a good product a notch down from there. A little less effective but a little less health risk for you and your pet.

I HATE the version I was sent with the new formulation. I really wish they hadn't done this. It doesn't appear to work any better than the old, and not only does my cat fight having it done (he didn't with the old formulation) he appeared almost ill from it (and that didn't happen with the old formulation).

I wasted a lot of money on this because I thought I was getting the same formulation as what I had. I refuse to use it anymore because I don't want to make my cat sick..

Our cat got fleas and I went through about $75 worth of other products before I found out this is the only one hands down that works. Yes, it smells like chemicals and your pet may loathe you when you raise that nozzle up, but you will visablly see dead and dieing fleas fall off your animal. (gross, i know, but dead is better than crawling off her and onto you) Our vet uses this product. I also reccomend using the Advantix 1mo treatment along with this so you dont have to subject your animal to direct contact to adams spray for too long. Also, a little food for thought: Since I used it on my cat and she hated it so much (i dont blame her, it is very strong smelling) it became a great training tool. She was obsessed with destroying houseplants and the Christmas tree so I sprayed it at the base of places (do not ever put around any food) she was not to go and it worked. We still have a bottle that's 75% full because we haven't had to use it since. The price might be a little higher than others, but it is worth every single penny hands down!
