I am a landlord and a property manager, and I give tenants receipts when they pay in cash. These are absolutely perfect for this purpose. Layout is sensible. The cardboard flap folds in for stability while writing, and to prevent you from writing on the next receipt. Plus, unlike rent receipts that you can print out online, this leaves us with a duplicate that we use when verifying tax records.

When I fill a receipt book, I use a sharpie to write in large numbers the dates that the receipt book was in use. That makes it really easy to go back to later.

I also love this receipt book for personal use. When we purchase things from our classifieds (a used appliance for one of the properties, or even something completely unrelated to the business), I bring this receipt book along, and I can have sellers write me a receipt on the spot. This is much better than having them scrawl something out on a piece of paper, or, worse, discovering that they don't even have a paper to scrawl a receipt on. Instead, I have receipts for most things I purchase--everything that is a business expense, and anything that is personal that I would want a record of the purchase. When I have people do this, I usually ask them to write their phone number or address beneath their signature on the receipt, so it has meaningful information.

The receipt book is small enough to be convenient (it is in my purse about 1/3 of the time), but large enough to be easy to use.

I HIGHLY recommend this receipt book especially to small business owners. This has made it much easier for us to organize records of purchases that we make. There have been several significant tax deductions that we would have missed because we forgot all about them, only to discover them as we flipped through these to make sure we got everything. This is one of those cheap, simple products that works so well that it makes other things seem like a waste of money.
