5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Investment!, January 19, 2008

This was one of the best buys I have ever made. The book is much bigger than I thought it would be. It is extremely interesting. Everytime I look at it I get more out of it. Definitely not a book that you look at once and forget about. I love the detail of the art as well as the historical content.

My ten year old daughter loves it just as much as I do.

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost Too Much Information, November 17, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Adam's Synchronological Chart or Map of History. (Hardcover)
When I got this product in the mail I was surprised how large the box was. Then I opened the box and boy this item is huge. I did not expect it to be anywhere near this large. When you fold out the chart it is probably 20 feet long. There is so much historical information here on the rise and fall of different cultures and nations it's hard to take it all in.

The only issue I have with it is that it is so large it is hard to use. The only thing I can think to do with this is to find a way to mount it on a wall (which will be complicated by the fact it is affixed to the cover boards. With that said, I love looking at the timelines and comparing biblical characters and who would have been their contemporaries.

Certainly worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, huge, and very, very detailed, November 24, 2009

First off I have to say that this hard-cover chart is much larger than it looks from the picture; fortunately, the 20 or so individual fold sections(covering about 400 years each) can be flipped through like pages of a book so you don't have to unfold the whole thing every time you look at it; there is also a wall poster version you can buy, though you need to make sure you have a whopping 25 feet of wall for it.

The chart itself is remarkably detailed; it give a detailed visualization of much of the family tree of Genesis, with an individual section devoted to the genealogy of Christ. It also shows the development of many ancient civilization, showing the time spans of various empires, and even connects the line of Chinese emperors to Noah.

This time chart relies upon James Ussher's dating of creation at 4004 BC. In addition, it contains well over 100 illustrations accompanied by various text blocks fleshing out details of the various time periods.

It also includes a booklet that goes into excellent detail concerning various civilizations from ancient Egypt to America.
