The Adaptec SCSI Card 2906 protects your SCSI peripheral investment by providing the same internal and external connections previously available with built-in Mac SCSI. And it works with Old SCSI manager as well as newer SCSI Manager 4.3 compatible devices for maximum compatibility. It also provides 10Mbyte/sec Fast SCSI performance that is twice as fast as the previously provided built-in Mac SCSI, and 6 times faster that the standard PC parallel port. (In Europe, only available for Macintosh.)

I needed this card to interface my HP ScanJet 6100C flatbed to my Dell 8100 - which, unlike my previous machine, had no ISA slots for the SCSI interface which HP originally supplied. I was expecting a fight, but was pleasantly surprised - installation under a Windows 2000 system was a piece of cake - the card was recognised instantly, no additional configuration required. I downloaded the latest scanner software from HP and everything worked perfectly first time.
Nice one, Adaptec. A great card which did exactly what was advertised - I recommend it unreservedly.

First off, I would never trust a SCSI card that is NOT made from Adaptec. Besides the fact of being overrated(at times), their quality and service is superb. Adaptec keeps up with the new high-technology as expected, and their product line will definately fit anyone, from a basic PC user to a quad-processor server.I purchased this SCSI card to control a SCSI scanner that was purchased before. One internal 50-pin IDC connector, and one DB25 external connector. This SCSI card was made to connect to any device that is Fast SCSI compliant. These Fast SCSI devices have a max speed of up to 10MB/sec. Devices include, CDR/CDRW drives, Zip Drives, hard drives(non-bootable), scanners, etc. Easy installation onto any computer, I installed this puppy into my Celeron-based PC with no problems at all. Affordable and easy to setup gives this item 5 stars.

Adaptec continues their reputation for solid design and performance.I updated an older Adaptec ISA SCSI card (which never gave me a problem in over 5 years) with this one for a PCI slot, and everything worked perfectly. As usual with Adaptec, I didn't need to load a driver. Win XP detected the card and loaded it automatically. Great product!
