Addendum is a remix collection based on songs found on Assemblage 23's feature album, Failure. There are also a few new songs, and some older unreleased material. There are a few remixes that catch my attention on Addendum, but most just lack the flavor of the original tracks found on Failure for one reason or another. The new tracks, Let Me Be your Armor, Breath Of Ghosts, and Away are excellect however. Perhaps the reason the remixes did not appeal to me is because they tend to have a more abstract sound than the fast paced originals. I believe if you are a devoted Assemblage 23 fan, it couldn't hurt to try Addendum...just don't expect the remixes to match the quality found on Failure. If you are not yet familiar with Assemblage 23, I suggest you buy Failure or Contempt instead.

Bought this cd mostly for the song "Let Me Be Your Armor" but enjoyed all of the music on it.

Tom Shear returns with this much anticipated album that is full of remixes and B-Side previously unreleased tracks. This is a 13 track CD with 9 of the tracks actual remixes of songs from the 'Contempt' and 'Failure' albums. Having at the moment listed to the 'Contempt' album and not 'Failure' I cannot comment on many of the remixes in full. I am at the moment purchasing the rest of Tom Shear's outstanding work.
However the highlight of this album was actually the 3 B-side songs that were not released previously. 'Let Me Be Your Armour', 'Breath Of Ghosts' and 'Away' sound better than the remixed songs. How they were never including in any other Assemblage 23 album is way beyond me. These songs are a mixture of dark industrial sounds mixed with new wave ambient trance beats. This should make any fan of Tom Shear and his work on Assemblage 23 get this album and its a valuable addon to your existing music library.
