5.0 out of 5 stars great product
This is a great water cooler. The water is chilled ice cold and the hot water is very hot. You can turn off the hot water if you don't want to be paying for the electricity bill all the time (there is a switch in the back). I bought this for my parents and I'm the only one who uses the hot water tap, so its great that it can be shut off while I'm away. Once you turn the...

1.0 out of 5 stars Ugh
Ugh. What can I say. The first time I bought this product I had to return it because no water came out of the hot water faucet at all. The second one I got worked fine for 4 months or so then developed a leak at the base of the cooler. I will never buy a product from Addico again.

Once you turn the hot water switch on you'll have hot water in about 10 or 15 minutes.

My parents had been renting a cooler from a bottled water delivery company and we had had the same cooler for about 10 or 15 years. Since we were paying rent for it every month, I told my parents to request a new one. They sent us a replacement cooler, but it was in worse condition than the one we wanted to replace so I decided to get this for them. With the 15 years of rent my parents paid for the rental (only room temp water), I could have purchased 3 or 4 of these.

One thing that should be noted is that the no splash system cap that comes with this does not fit all water bottles like is stated. It does not fit bottles that are from bottled water delivery companys. If you don't want to be carrying a five gallon container back and forth to the store this might be a problem because the reservoir does not hold very much water and it is difficult to avoid spills without the no splash nozzle.

The bottle cover makes the cooler look nice because you don't see the bottle. The only problem with this is that it isn't obvious when the cooler is low on water.

This is an energy star appliance so it uses less electricity than other comparable water coolers. After drinking four glasses (10 oz. cup) I noticed slighty warmer water coming out of the tap. After the seventh glass the water was near room temp.

Overall I really like this product. It is a definite upgrade from an only room temp cooler (no need to buy so much ice anymore). I would recommend it to anyone.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, September 28, 2003

This review is from: Addico Milano Hot & Cold Water Cooler, Black (Tools & Hardware)
I read the reviews (2)and decided to throw out the bad and give it a try. It arrived quickley but after setting it up, drilling a hole in my cabinet for power, I found out that the cold water did not work. I called customer service, Canada, waited on the phone for 20 mins. and was told that I had to deal with Amazon since I bought it there. I was requesting to repair the thermostat myself if they sent me the part. No luck. I sent it back. Amazon made sending and receiving easy. That was the only good thing with this whole excercise.

1.0 out of 5 stars Looks are decieving, January 27, 2004

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Addico Milano Hot & Cold Water Cooler, Black (Tools & Hardware)
Before buying this water cooler, I had read some bad reviews, but decided that I would be the exception. Unfortunately, I was wrong and they were right. The cooler looks very chic however the water tastes like plastic and makes you feel ill.

I called Addico and they told me to sterilize it again. Then when that didn't work, they told me that the problem was that the hot water switch needed to be on at all times or the water would taste stale(if this is true why is there a switch at all). The third time I called they told me that they use the same plastic as peanut butter jars and that the water is fine. However, my taste buds and stomach tell me otherwise. I have a feeling that it has something to do with the lubricant they use inside the cooler.

I am glad I bought it from amazon though, because they make the return process very easy. In conclusion, I give amazon 5 stars and Addico 1 Star.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bad after taste, February 19, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Addico Milano Hot & Cold Water Cooler, Black (Tools & Hardware)
I ordered this cooler approx. one month ago. It functions fine mechanically, however the water it dispenses has a foul "plastic" type taste. I flushed both hot and cold water through this cooler (approx. 10 gallons) and the water still tasted bad. I am in the process of sending back this cooler but I am afraid to get another one for fear of the same problem. I have to think about my next move.

I had reservations about buying this water cooler after reading some of the negative reviews here, but decided to buy it anyway because I was unable to find another black water cooler with a bottle cover (my two requirements). So far, I have had no problems. I have not experienced any problems with the water tasting like plastic like some others have noted. I would like to note that the cooler comes with specific instructions for cleaning prior to use, which I followed carefully to avoid any problems. It took me over 30 minutes to clean after unpacking, but I have had no problems. Overall, a good water cooler. It provides hot water, cold water, and has a nice design. What more do you want from a water cooler?

1.0 out of 5 stars Thisty in New York, April 29, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Addico Milano Hot & Cold Water Cooler, Black (Tools & Hardware)
Well, my Milano water cooler functioned fine for about a year and a half. All of a sudden, we were not getting any cold water. The following week, we couldn't get any hot water. I was doing research online to find out who the manufacturer was so I could get the unit repaired or replaced (I now know it's Addico) and after reading all the negative reviews, I decided just to throw it away and get a new water cooler from a reputable manufacturer!

2.0 out of 5 stars Went Kaput and Addico's toll-free number is disconnected, May 18, 2005

I was so excited when I got this water cooler. It worked great for about one year and then the moter started gasping and making LOUD clunky noises. It then started to leak water from the bottom and when I called the company they said it was my water jug. Checked the jug and it was not leaking. Now the toll-free number on Addico's web site and product manual has been disconnected and when calling their local Canada number it just rings and rings. Too much money for one year of service.

5.0 out of 5 stars I have been extremely pleased with mine, October 16, 2004
This review is from: Addico Milano Hot & Cold Water Cooler, Black (Tools & Hardware)
I am only a light user.... maybe 5 gallons every two to three weeks.... and I have found the water Hot ... or cold... depending on what I want and have experienced no after taste....

I have had mine about a year and only use bottled (RO) water which I assume everyone is using and not had any problems...

2.0 out of 5 stars Leaking Cooler, May 30, 2006
This review is from: Addico Milano Hot & Cold Water Cooler, Black (Tools & Hardware)
I bought this cooler from Costco last year. I enjoyed it until it started to leak about a month ago. I tried calling the toll free number only to find out it was a porn number. I would like to get the cooler repaired. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Dorothy
