Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Ideal for home or office, this electric appliance delivers hot and cold water from two spigots and comes with a removable bottle cover for a sleek, contemporary look. It's economical as well as convenient, earning an EPA Energy Star rating that certifies it's highly efficient and can save up to $47 annually in electricity compared to other water coolers. Accompanying the cooler is a special valve, which fits all 3-, 4-, 5-, and 6-gallon water bottles (bottles not included) to ensure drip-free installation when a bottle is inverted onto the cooler. For child safety, the hot-water spigot (colored red) requires a squeeze as well as a push. Cold water is chilled to 38-42 degrees F, and hot water is heated to 180-192 degrees F--ideal for instant coffee, tea, and soup. The cabinet and bottle cover are made of rugged plastic with smart metallic accents and wipe clean with a cloth, and the drip tray is wide enough to hold a glass or cup. With bottle cover in place, the appliance measures 51 inches high, 12 inches wide, and 13 inches deep. It carries a two-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

2.0 out of 5 stars Works Well But Ruins Water's Taste, November 24, 2003
This review is from: Addico Milano Hot & Cold Water Cooler, White (Tools & Hardware)
I purchased this water cooler to replace one that I had rented from Poland Springs for seven years. This water cooler functions well. Hot water is hot enough to make tea or other hot drinks and the cold water is fairly cold. The problem is that the reservoir for the cold water is made of soft plastic and it makes the Poland Springs water that I pay dearly for taste like plastic. My previous rented water cooler had a stainless steel reservoir which did not affect the taste of the water. There is a stainless steel reservoir for the hot water, so it isn't as badly affected. The company assures me that the taste will "go away eventually," but after several months, I'm not holding my breath. If I had it to do over again, I would definitely shop around for a water cooler that had ALL stainless steel reservoirs.

1.0 out of 5 stars Water tastes like plastic, September 9, 2004
This review is from: Addico Milano Hot & Cold Water Cooler, White (Tools & Hardware)
DO NOT BUY THIS COOLER - it makes the water taste bad, like plastic. I have "flushed" the cooler with more than 6 gallons of boiling water as instructed by Ice Mountain, and that fixes the "plastic" taste for about 2 days. Then the taste slowly starts to come back, and by the 5th day after the flush it's back with a vengeance - worse than it was before! No point in buying bottled water if the cooler is going to make it taste awful!
