About the Author

Rev. Dr. David L. Hain and his wife Shawn served through Adventures in Missions (Gainesville, GA) as missionaries in Kensington and North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to addicts, the poor, and the homeless. God has worked through Dave’s ministry to turn more than 300 addicts’ lives around. Dave shared his concern for these people by ministering on the streets and in abandoned homes 40 to 60 hours a week, supervising ministry interns, and coordinating and leading more than 250 short term mission trips by groups coming from all over the country. Dave currently ministers through Upward Call Counseling Services, Inc., (New Holland, PA), a not-for-profit counseling outreach. He has completed the international examination for his advanced Certified Addiction Counselor (CACD) certification for the State of Pennsylvania. Dave received his Doctorate of Ministry from Faith Covenant Theological Seminary in Palm Harbor, FL. He holds a B.A. in History from Ursinus College and a Masters of Education in History from East Stroudsburg University.

5.0 out of 5 stars From Addict to Disciple, October 12, 2005
This review is from: From Addict to Disciple (Paperback)
I feel the author is a true example of how we can show others God's love. He shares his joys and tragedies in working with those caught in substance abuse. This book is not only for those who suffer from addiction, but also for the friends and family of that person who wish to truly help the addict become a disciple of Christ. It is a book that is easy to read with small chapters that include some key questions and statements that many can relate to. This book also sends hope to the reader and helps them find Jesus in them. Excellent Book!!!!
