You know the saying "Fool me once, shame on you; Fool me twice, shame on me." Well Rachael Henderson is really familiar with it. She had been left at the altar twice now! Watch out as Rachael is out for revenge and what better place to get your revenge then Rachael's hometown... Valentine, Texas. A town full of romantics and believers of true love. The last person Rachael expected to see what Sheriff Brody Carlton. Rachael's first crush. Sheriff Brody Carlton gets called out because someone is defacing Valentine's famous red lipped billboard. When Brody arrives at the scene, he can't believe his eyes. He finds a woman wearing a wedding dress painting the lips black. Rachael wants to help the people of Valentine, so she creates Romanceaholics Anonymous. So people don't like Rachael coming in and stirring up things. Before you know it the residents of Valentine are divided. The witty banter that transpired amongst Rachael and Brody had me smiling the whole way through the book. I liked reading Lori Wilde's latest release Addicted to Love. It was an upbeat, sweet romantic book. Addicted to Love is part of the Wedding Veil Wishes series. Addicted to Love is the first book I have read in this series by Lori Wilde but it sure won't be the last one I read. I hope to eventually see Rachael, Brody and the rest of the townsfolk's of Valentine, Texas again.

While I found this book well written, I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped. It was my first book by Lori Wilde and I'm not sure if I will read another.
I liked Brody and Rachael and thought they had good chemistry but there was too much going on and not enough focus on their relationship. Which is what I like best in my romance novels. I like a good secondary romance if it adds something to the story but this was like three stories stitched together in one. Four if you count Rachael's new career path and her Romanceaholic Anonymous meetings. Not only was this book about Brody and Rachael, it was about her parents Selina and Michael (they just frustrated me to no end) and Kelvin and Giada. It also took place over the course of a year. Overall, it was well written but it moved along slowly for me and didn't focus enough on the relationship between the main characters.

Fall In Love,

This review is from: Addicted to Love (Wedding Veil Wishes) (Mass Market Paperback)
Valentine, Texas is the place you want to go to when you're in the mood for love and romance. Well maybe not everyone comes to Valentine for love, Rachael Henderson came for revenge. Revenge on a local landmark, and a town that professed love at every turn. Rachael had just been left at the alter, again, and was on a mission to prove that love is not all sparkles, glitter and fairy tales. In the middle of her graffiti work, the local sheriff pulls up and is ready to take her in as his prisoner. Rachael remembers this man from her childhood, he was the first man to ever break her heart at the tender age of seven, and then his family moved away. That all too familiar tingly feeling shot right through her, but she was tired of these so called loves... she wanted the great love. And Brody didn't give it to her back then, but things change right? Only he didn't want to fall in love either.
Brody Carlton, was injured in Iraq, now an amputee with his new mechanical knee he found himself climbing 40 feet up in the air to drag down the grown-up Rachael Henderson. From the moment he laid eyes on her it was magic, but he was still torn up over his divorce over two years ago and has been pretty much celibate ever since. He knew what Rachael needed, he just didn't think he could give her all she desired. But he could give her a good romp in the hay so to speak. It seemed that the moment Rachael rolled into town she brought out the worst in the people in Valentine, but she also started an origination called Romanceaholics Anonymous, helped in the politics and not to mention she was offered a pretty exciting job writing a column for a well known magazine. With the good comes the bad... but with Brody by her side and always in her thoughts she could make it through anything. No matter how badly she didn't want to love this man, she couldn't help it... they both needed a little intervention and the Judge would see to that. Addicted to Love by Lori Wilde is candy coated, pink fuzzies, and all that other girly mushy love stuff. It was a phenomenal read with real characteristics, loveable characters and that touch of something special that every woman wants when she reads a romance novel. Lori Wilde has done a spectacular job with Addicted to Love, she shows that no matter how badly you're hurt, that it is always possible to find that once in a lifetime great love. If you're into Happily Ever After's, then you'll fall in love with this book. 5 Hearts Hachette Book Group Isbn# 0446502049

Addicted to Love,
This review is from: Addicted to Love (Wedding Veil Wishes) (Mass Market Paperback)
After being left at the altar for the second time and finding out bad news about her parents' marriage, Rachael Henderson is ready to give up on love. She returns to her hometown of Valentine, Texas, and vandalizes a sign. That gets her arrested by sexy sheriff Brody Carlton, but she's undaunted. Rather than giving up, she starts up Romanceaholics Anonymous to help other people who are addicted to love stop making the wrong choices. If she can just shrug off her attraction to the sexy sheriff, Rachael is sure her life will be perfect.
Brody Carlton is fairly content with his life until Rachael shows up and starts stirring up the whole town. Now the romantics and the cynics are squaring off, and Brody's fighting his unwanted desire for the pretty troublemaker. Will Rachael's return lead to love for Brody and Rachael, or just more problems? Addicted to Love is a sweet, fun story about a die-hard romantic who's been hurt once too often and a cynic who doesn't believe in love. Watching Rachael grow from a romance addict to an independent woman who understands the true meaning of love was really entertaining. Brody is just wonderful. A divorced veteran injured in Iraq, he has many reasons to be bitter, yet he isn't. He's the perfect hero for Rachael--low on flash but full of substance. There's a huge cast of entertaining and amusing secondary characters, and several subplots. There's the disintegrating marriage of Rachael's parents, an attraction between two political rivals, and a mystery involving vandalism in the town. The plot was action-packed but rarely too busy. Lori Wilde did a good job of juggling all her plotlines and not taking away from Rachael and Brody's romance. Addicted to Love is a story with a great message, that real love should be cherished. Fans of "awwww" inducing romances, small towns, and comedy will be sure to enjoy Addicted to Love. ***Note: Addicted to Love is part of a series, although it stands alone quite well.*** Cassie Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

I found "Addicted to Love" by Lori Wilde to be a fun and humorous story. In a way, it was an anti-romance romance. If that confuses you, read on!
Rachael grew up in Valentine, Texas where everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING in town glorifies the idea of romance. From the huge bride mascot at the entrance to town to parking meters shaped like hearts, Valentine's whole economy is built on the tourism trade of love. But when Rachael is dumped at the altar for a second time AND her Dad lets spill that he and her mom are getting divorced, Rachael becomes just a bit disillusioned. So she sets out to change her outlook and actions regarding love and romance. Brody can't quite believe what he's seeing. There's a woman in a bride's dress defacing the town mascot! Since Brody's the Sheriff, and the Mayor is irate, Brody doesn't have much choice but to arrest the culprit. He always thought Rachael was cute and they were childhood buddies until he moved away, but there's something different about her now. Maybe it's the fact that she's all grown up...and really HOT. But Brody has his own demons to fight regarding love and self-image. What makes this story so funny is Rachael's thoughts and actions to try and 'break herself' of her romantic tendencies...and Brody's reactions to Rachael. Throw in the wounded hero thing Brody has going and he becomes a man to dream of, with handcuffs!! Wilde is hit and miss for me, but I did enjoy this book. My only disappointment was with the lack of focus on Brody and Rachael. There was the whole deal with her Mom and Dad, a town divided by Rachael's thoughts and actions, and even a little political scheming, dirty politics, and strange bedfellows to boot. Maybe that was just too much for me to deal with while trying to understand Rachael and Brody. "Addicted to Love" is the third book by Lori Wilde in a series about a wedding veil with magical properties to grant the owner their heart's desire. I've read all of them so far and each seems to 'miss' for me...just a little, but enough to impact my enjoyment. I need to add that this book is NC-17 solely because of one love scene involving oral sex. The rest of the book is fairly tame.

lighthearted fun a,
This review is from: Addicted to Love (Wedding Veil Wishes) (Mass Market Paperback)
Jilted for the second time, frustrated bride-not Rachael Henderson disfigures the Valentine, Texas billboard as happily ever after is a fairytale. Her first crush Iraq War veteran turned town Sheriff Brody Carlton arrests her for defacing public property.
The court gives Rachel community service; while she sentences herself to find a way to no longer be a losing inane romantic. Thus she sets up an Internet site for Romanceaholics Anonymous so they can save each other from the addicted destruction of romanticism. The townsfolk are irate; at least the Austen crowd and those who sell the concept of romance in Valentine; although some cynics toast their new heroine. Bobby, who lost a leg in Iraq, thinks the woman he is falling in love with is overreacting to the rejections; as he believes she has not found the right groom until now. The problem is her web help network makes romance seem negative. The latest charming "Wedding Veil Wishes" is an amusing tale focusing on recognizing what love is and with whom. The story line is lighthearted fun as Rachel receives an education of the heart. Recipients from the previous "Wedding Veil Wishes" romances return and the Wilde trademark of strong secondary romances enhance an engaging Valentine tale. Harriet Klausner

They just get better and better! In this novel Racheal the romantic of the group was just dumped at the alter and is found by the Valentine's Sheriff defacing the Valentine Town sign. This author takes on journey of Racheal and Sheriff Brody Carlton. The secondary romances are great! The underlining theme that marriage and love takes work and is not all about 'romance' was complete on target!
You don't have to read the whole series to enjoy this book but why not get them all; There Goes the Bride, Once Smitten, Twice Shy and looking forward to Jillian's Story the final book in the series.
